ACORN TV TO DEBUT "ACORN TV X TED: TRANSFORM YOUR THINKING"

Six-Episode Series Showcasing Best of TED Talks Premieres Monday, November 25

"You don't get to have a meaningful career or raise a family or leave the world a better place without stress and discomfort. Discomfort is the price of admission to a meaningful life." - Susan David's "The Gift and Power of Emotional Courage"

NEW YORK, NY - November 13, 2024 - AMC Networks' Acorn TV today announced a new series in partnership with TED, the nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading, Acorn TV X TED: Transform Your Thinking, which will debut exclusively on the platform on Monday, November 25. The new series will consist of six episodes, each featuring five TED Talks with a common theme.

Featured episodes in Acorn TV X TED: Transform Your Thinking will explore: "How to Live a Better You," "The Art and Science of Love," "Your Body, Explained," "Tales from the Edge," "The Future Ahead," and "Climate Action, Now!" These episodes will mark the first time these featured TED Talks are available to stream.

With the success of hit crime dramas such as Harry Wild, My Life Is Murder, Dalgliesh and The Madame Blanc Mysteries, Acorn TV X TED: Transform Your Thinking welcomes a new offering from the international murder mystery content for which Acorn TV is well known. With this partnership, Acorn TV will offer its intellectually curious viewers a chance to explore timely topics related to their daily lives, from longevity and wellness to climate change and the science of love.

"When we focus on our productivity, we highlight what we have to do to feel worthy, rather than who we get to be where worthiness is our birthright, and we are human" - Alua Aurthur's "Why Thinking About Death Helps You Live a Better Life"

"Acorn TV has long been known as a destination for compelling scripted dramas and comedies, and now, with this new partnership with TED, we are able to offer our audiences compelling content beyond the scripted world," said Don Klees, Senior Vice President, Programming, Acorn TV. "In the TED spirit of 'Powerful ideas, powerfully presented,' we aim to provide an opportunity to spark deeper inspiration and curiosity with this endeavor."

"At TED, we seek to spark curiosity and foster meaningful conversations with audiences in new ways, " said Alan Seiffert, Head of Global Business Development at TED. About TED

TED is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to discovering, debating and spreading ideas that spark conversation, deepen understanding and drive meaningful change. Our organization is devoted to curiosity, reason, wonder and the pursuit of knowledge - without an agenda. We welcome people from every discipline and culture who seek a deeper understanding of the world and connection with others, and we invite everyone to engage with ideas and activate them in your community.

TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, but today it spans a multitude of worldwide communities and initiatives exploring everything from science and business to education, arts and global issues. In addition to the TED Talks curated from our annual conferences and published on TED.com, we produce original podcasts, short video series, animated educational lessons (TED-Ed) and TV programs that are translated into more than 100 languages and distributed via partnerships around the world. Each year, thousands of independently run TEDx events bring people together to share ideas and bridge divides in communities on every continent. Through the Audacious Project, TED has helped catalyze more than $3 billion in funding for projects that seek to make the world more beautiful, sustainable and just. In 2020, TED launched Countdown, an initiative to accelerate solutions to the climate crisis and mobilize a movement for a net-zero future, and in 2023 TED launched TED Democracy to spark a new kind of conversation focused on realistic pathways towards a more vibrant and equitable future.
