Jan. 17, 2025 - Paramount+ today announced that the Paramount Pictures' epic, GLADIATOR II, will stream on the service beginning Tuesday, January 21, in the U.S. and Canada.* GLADIATOR II is the long-awaited sequel to the Best Picture(R) Oscar-winning film, GLADIATOR, directed by legendary filmmaker Ridley Scott. GLADIATOR is also currently available to stream on Paramount+ alongside a robust collection of critically acclaimed movies and series. Over the course of the 28 days following the sequel's release, the original film saw a massive 96% lift in viewership.
From legendary director Ridley Scott, GLADIATOR II continues the epic saga of power, intrigue, and vengeance set in Ancient Rome. Years after witnessing the death of the revered hero Maximus at the hands of his uncle, Lucius (Paul Mescal) is forced to enter the Colosseum after his home is conquered by the tyrannical Emperors who now lead Rome with an iron fist. With rage in his heart and the future of the Empire at stake, Lucius must look to his past to find strength and honor to return the glory of Rome to its people.
