Toma Ikuta Stars in 'Demon City' with Music by Tomoyasu Hotei, Streaming on February 27

The gripping trailer and stunning key art for Demon City have been unveiled, offering a glimpse into the intense live-action adaptation of Masamichi Kawabe's acclaimed comic, "Oni Goroshi." Featuring a mesmerizing performance by Toma Ikuta, the film streams starting February 27.

In Demon City, Toma Ikuta takes on the role of Shuhei Sakata, a legendary hitman on a quest for vengeance after the brutal murder of his wife and daughter by the Kimen-gumi - a shadowy organization of masked criminals. Set in the provincial city of Shinjo, this electrifying revenge tragedy follows Sakata as he navigates a world of crime and retribution. The trailer teases the heart-pounding action and emotional depth of Sakata's journey, while the key art captures him as a vengeful "demon" wielding an axe, ready to face his foes.

The film features an ensemble cast of Japan's finest actors, including Matsuya Onoe, Masahiro Higashide, Masanobu Takashima, and Mio Tanaka, each delivering chilling performances as members of the Kimen-gumi. Directed and written by Seiji Tanaka, known for his award-winning film Melancholic, Demon City combines genre-defying storytelling with raw, visceral action.

Legendary guitarist Tomoyasu Hotei's music composition amplifies the film's intensity, adding an emotional and daring edge to Sakata's relentless pursuit of vengeance. Hotei's signature guitar work, featured prominently in the trailer, offers a taste of the immersive soundscape that awaits viewers.

Experience Sakata's relentless journey as he transforms into a "demon" to avenge his family.

Demon City streams on February 27, only on Netflix.
