Max Original Series WHEN NO ONE SEES US Debuts March 7

The Max Original Spanish-language series WHEN NO ONE SEES US, the first Max Original scripted series from Spain, debuts FRIDAY, MARCH 7. Directed by Enrique Urbizu and starring Maribel Verdú and Mariela Garriga, WHEN NO ONE SEES US explores a series of crimes in the political and cultural frontier of so-called "deep Spain," and one of the largest U.S. military bases abroad, during the celebration of Holy Week in Morón de la Frontera (Seville). The eight-episode series will premiere weekly on Max.

WHEN NO ONE SEES US debuted at the San Sebastian International Film Festival in 2024, where Variety described it as "pure cinema of the first order."

Produced by Zeta Studios for Warner Bros. Discovery in Spain and based on the novel of the same name by Sergio Sarria, the series stars Maribel Verdú ("The Flash") and Mariela Garriga ("Mission Impossible" 7 and 8) alongside Austin Amelio ("Hit Man," "Fear The Walking Dead"), Ben Temple ("Upon Entry") and Dani Rovira ("Spanish Affair"). The series was created by Daniel Corpas and written by a team of scriptwriters led by Arturo Ruiz, with the collaboration of Luis Caballero, José Antonio Valverde, Germán Aparicio and Isabel Sánchez.

During Holy Week in 2024 in Morón de la Frontera, a village in Seville located next to the U.S. army base area, the American way of life coexists naturally with the traditions of the Andalusian countryside. Lucía Gutiérrez (Maribel Verdú) is a Civil Guard sergeant investigating the unusual suicide of a neighbor and strange events that occurred during the first Easter procession. Magaly Castillo (Mariela Garriga) is a U.S. Army special agent sent to the Morón de la Frontera base to find out the whereabouts of a missing American soldier who seems to be linked to the hidden business of Colonel Seamus Hoopen (Ben Temple), head of the base area. The lone military policeman, Sergeant Andrew Taylor (Austin Amelio), accompanies Magaly in her investigations and they soon discover that the two investigations are connected and the case is far more complex than they had assumed, involving both Morón residents and American military personnel from the nearby base.

WHEN NO ONE SEES US was shot in Madrid and several nearby towns, as well as in Morón de la Frontera and at the U.S. military base in the town of Seville.

Additional cast includes Abril Montilla, Lucía Jiménez, Numa Paredes, María Alfonsa Rosso, Eloy Azorín, Virginia de Morata, Carlos Beluga, Lorca Prada and Ana María Vivancos.

Antonio Asensio, Paloma Molina and Salvador Yagüe executive produce for Zeta Studios. Alberto Carullo, Antonio Trashorras and David Ocaña executive produce for Warner Bros. Discovery. Production services for the series are provided by Cuando Nadie Nos Ve La Serie, S.L., a subsidiary of Zeta Studios, for Warner Bros. Discovery.
