'Nightline' Commemorates Its Legacy Featuring New Interviews With Past and Present Anchors and Rare Archival Footage of Iconic Reporting, Unveiling an Updated Look

The 45th Anniversary Episode of 'Nightline' Airs Monday, March 24

ABC News' award-winning late-night program "Nightline" marks its 45th anniversary with a special broadcast featuring all-new interviews with past and present anchors and will highlight the show's enduring legacy through rare archival footage, taking viewers on a journey through four and a half decades of groundbreaking journalism and the program's impact. Since its launch in 1980, "Nightline" has remained a trusted source of in-depth reporting and compelling storytelling, covering historic moments and cultural shifts. The 45th-anniversary episode of "Nightline" will air on Monday, March 24, from 12:35 p.m.-1:05 a.m. EDT on ABC and streaming next day on Hulu.

To honor this milestone, ABC News' programs and platforms will feature segments dedicated to "Nightline" throughout the day on March 24. "Good Morning America" will initiate the celebration with "Nightline" co-anchors Juju Chang and Byron Pitts in-studio. Later, Chang will join the co-hosts of "The View," and Pitts will appear on "ABC News Live Prime with Linsey Davis." Additional appearances by Chang and Pitts will include "GMA3: What You Need to Know" and throughout ABC News-owned and affiliate stations. "World News Tonight with David Muir" and ABC News Audio's daily news podcast "Start Here" will present special tributes to "Nightline," and ABC News Digital will publish a feature on the show's robust history. Additionally, "Nightline" debuts a new logo that honors its iconic legacy, blending elements from its original look with an updated, modern design.
