'World News Tonight' Anchor David Muir Will Lead Comprehensive Coverage From the Vatican, With ABC News Live 'Prime' Anchor Linsey Davis, Chief International Correspondent James Longman, Senior National Correspondent Terry Moran, Foreign Correspondent Maggie Rulli and More
ABC News announced today special, comprehensive coverage of the papal conclave and installation of the new pope led by "World News Tonight" anchor and managing editor David Muir from the Vatican beginning Wednesday, May 7, at 10 a.m. EDT. Muir will be joined by ABC News Live "Prime" and "World News Tonight" Sunday anchor Linsey Davis, chief international correspondent James Longman, senior national correspondent Terry Moran, foreign correspondent Maggie Rulli, reporters Ines de La Cuetara and Patrick Revell, WABC-TV Eyewitness News anchor Joe Torres, WLS-TV Eyewitness News reporter Liz Nagy, and contributors Father Jim Martin, Father John Wauck and Helen Alvaré. ABC News will broadcast all voting session smoke releases until a new pope is announced.
David Muir will anchor "World News Tonight" from the Vatican, beginning Tuesday, May 6. "Good Morning America" and "GMA3" will have live reports from the Vatican each morning, delivering full team coverage and the latest breaking news as it unfolds. "The View" will discuss in Hot Topics. "Nightline" will air dedicated segments about the election process and the papal conclave.
ABC News Live, America's No. 1 streaming news channel available on Disney+, Hulu and other digital platforms, will provide coverage throughout the day on Wednesday with regular, live updates from James Longman and Terry Moran. Linsey Davis will anchor the "Prime" broadcast from Rome beginning Tuesday, May 6.
ABC Owned Television Stations will have comprehensive coverage of the conclave with Joe Torres and Liz Nagy on the ground in Rome.
ABC News Digital will have a dedicated live blog, plus additional breakout stories, including a profile of the new pope and a look at the pageantry surrounding the ceremonies.
ABC News Radio will track the papal selection process and feature special reports during significant developments such as sightings of smoke and the announcement of a new pope. "Start Here," the flagship daily news podcast from ABC News hosted by Brad Mielke, will preview the conclave on Wednesday with a segment outlining conclave traditions and protocols, and share daily updates from conclave proceedings.
