Netflix checks into the adrenaline-fueled world of the emergency room world with a pulse-pounding new Norwegian series, led by rising star Sara Khorami - soon to be introduced to a global audience in Troll 2. The series marks a major milestone as the series is Netflix first-ever Nordic medical drama.

Behind the scenes, a seasoned creative team is on call: Acclaimed screenwriters Harald Rosenløw-Eeg (La Palma, The Arctic Convoy) and Jan Trygve Røyneland (The King's Choice, A Storm for Christmas) has created the series, delivering drama with surgical precision. The series is directed by the prolific film-maker Henrik Martin Dahlsbakken (The Arctic Convoy, Another Happy Christmas) who is making his debut with a series, bringing steady hands to this high-stakes operation. Produced by emerging production company Klynge, the series marks its first collaboration with Netflix.

Producer Esben Selvig: "We are teaming up with Netflix and the finest crop of Nordic storytellers to deliver an intense, eight-episode TV series that will grip the audience as they laugh, cry, and champion the real-life heroes in white capes."

Main lead Sara Khorami: "I'm incredibly excited to dive into this exciting material, together with this amazing group of highly skilled people."

The entire series will be shot in Norway. Casting is currently underway, with the yet-to-be-titled series set to premiere globally on Netflix in fall 2026.

SERIES INFORMATION

Synopsis: At the emergency ward, it doesn't matter who you are - rich or poor, influencer, carpenter, or minister. If you've broken something, if you're bleeding, or if you need help, you'll get it. Despite low staffing, little time, perhaps one too many cups of coffee, and a demanding crowd of patients, a team of exhausted but resilient doctors and nurses are ready to help. Sofia (Sara Khorami), a surgeon with more talent than patience, is sent into this chaotic environment to save her own career - the last place she wants to be. There, she encounters disorder, resistance, and something she never expected: warmth, community... and love. Suddenly, she faces a choice: continue alone on her path to the top, or become part of something greater - a bond she never knew she needed. A family.
