NEW YORK, July 25, 2025 - Shudder's new unscripted, horror-based competition show Guts & Glory, from award-winning special effects artist and executive producer Greg Nicotero (The Walking Dead, Creepshow), is set to debut with a two-episode premiere on Tuesday, September 9 on Shudder and AMC+ (U.S. and Canada). The announcement was made by Nicotero during AMC Networks' San Diego Comic-Con panel for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, on which he is an executive producer. New episodes of the six-episode series, which features an integrated sponsorship by Hyundai, will rollout weekly on Tuesdays.
Guts & Glory flips the script on the traditional competition show - thrusting players into an immersive horror experience full of unexpected challenges. The new series blends the intensity of a horror film with the pressure of a survival game where contestants are confronted with their fears in various scenarios.
Guts & Glory is an AMC Studios production. Executive producers include series showrunner Nicotero and Brian Witten from Monster Agency Productions, Chris Wagner from White Label, and Andrew Molina from Salaryman. Jeffrey F. January serves as co-executive producer.
The series debuts during Shudder's 10-year anniversary, celebrating a decade of the best in horror. Shudder 10 will feature the service's most terrifyingly ambitious slate to date, along with special fan events, a nationwide screening series, custom merchandise and more. The milestone follows a successful 2024 for Shudder as the streamer claimed six of the year's top 10 titles on Rotten Tomatoes 2024 Horror list with LATE NIGHT WITH THE DEVIL landing in the #1 spot.
