'Breathless' Returns to Netflix, Premiering October 31st

Netflix has officially announced the premiere date for the second season of Breathless, Spain's first hospital drama on the service, which took everyone's breath away with the release of its first season. The new part of the series, created by Carlos Montero (Elite, The Mess You Leave Behind), will land on Netflix on October 31st.

The Joaquín Sorolla is now a privately run hospital, challenging the values and principles of its medical staff. Having got her way, Patricia (Najwa Nimri) continues her fight against cancer while growing increasingly close to Néstor (Borja Luna). Jésica (Blanca Suárez) is trying to regain her usual self confidence, but she's torn between Lluís (Alfonso Bassave) and Biel (Manu Ríos). Pilar (Aitana Sánchez-Gijón) is still grappling with her son's addictions, but Quique (Xóan Fórneas) may find an unexpected ally in her when the hospital's new management pushes him to make a questionable decision. On top of it all, the arrival of a renowned oncologist, Sophie (Rachel Lascar), threatens to turn the entire place upside down.

The series will feature 8 episodes and once again stars Najwa Nimri (La Virgen Roja, Money Heist), Aitana Sánchez-Gijón (Madres paralelas, Velvet Collection), Blanca Suárez (La huella del mal, Las chicas del cable), Manu Ríos (Elite, El silencio), Borja Luna (Cristo y Rey, Sin huellas) and Alfonso Bassave (El inmortal, Estoy vivo). Pablo Alborán, Gustavo Salmerón, and Rachel Lascar join the cast for this second season, with the ensemble is rounded out by Ana Rayo, Macarena de Rueda, Blanca Martínez, Abril Zamora, Xoán Fórneas, Marwa Bakhat, and Claudia Traisac, among others.

Created by Carlos Montero and produced by El Desorden Crea, the series has Carlos Montero, Diego Betancor and Carlos Ruano as executive producers. Directed by David Pinillos, Marta Font and Abril Zamora, it is written by Carlos Montero, Carlos Ruano, Guillermo Escribano, Adela Gutiérrez and Nach Solís.
