Jones Reunites with His Explosives Ordnance Disposal Unit 15 Years After the Accident that Changed His Life Forever
NEW YORK - August 4, 2025 - FOX Nation has premiered a new special helmed by FOX News contributor, best-selling author and Marine veteran Johnny Joey Jones' titled "Alive Day: The Reunion," now available on the platform. Marking 15 years since an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion took both of his legs above the knee and the life of his friend Reserve Engineer Daniel Greer, he is reunited with the men from his Explosives Ordnance Disposal Unit to reflect on the challenges they endured.
In August of 2010, Jones was a bomb technician working in Afghanistan when he stepped on an IED. Within seconds, he had lost both legs and part of his right arm, fighting to stay alive. Looking back on that fateful day, Jones reflects on the struggles he endured and honors those who never made it home.
Jones is joined by former U.S. Marine Corps Explosive Ordnance Disposal techs Master Sergeant Jared Scott, Master Sergeant Matthew Jackson, EOD officer and Marine Forces Command Lt. Colonel Andrew Cheatum and Stacey Greer, the widow of Corporal Daniel Greer who died in the explosion. Throughout their reunion, the group reminisce on their years in war, the battle they endured to survive and the bond that grew as they leaned on one another to recover.
