ICE-T TO HOST A&E'S NEW SPECIAL "FAME AND FENTANYL" PROVIDING AN UNFLINCHING LOOK AT THE NATIONAL EPIDEMIC

2-HOUR SPECIAL TO PREMIERE MONDAY, AUGUST 25 AT 9PM ET/PT

NEW YORK, NY - AUGUST 4, 2025 - A&E to air "Fame and Fentanyl," a new gripping two-hour documentary special, exposing the devastating impact of fentanyl on our society and culture. Hosted by Ice-T, the special offers a raw and unfiltered look at the deadly drug that has claimed the lives of many. "Fame and Fentanyl" premieres Monday, August 25 at 9pm ET/PT on A&E.

From high-profile celebrities to everyday families in the suburbs, cities, and along our border, fentanyl's impact is profound and has devastated many. "Fame and Fentanyl" takes a deep dive into stories of those including Prince, Angus Cloud, Tom Petty, Michael K. Williams, and more. Families from all walks of life open up about their devastating losses and share their heart-breaking stories to shine a light on the crisis and help prevent more tragedies. When news first broke of celebrities overdosing on fentanyl, most Americans had never heard of the drug. Today, fentanyl-related deaths dominate headlines almost daily and with more than 70,000 Americans dying from fentanyl poisoning at the height of the crisis, the need for awareness has become vital.

"Fentanyl, for me, came out of nowhere. By the time I learned about the drug, I had already lost people to it. It's a poison in the drug world, and I wanted to do everything that I could to make people aware of its danger" says Ice-T when discussing the upcoming special.

Featuring interviews with experts and special agents, the special also provides unprecedented insight into the criminal investigations to find out how law enforcement brought dealers to justice after selling lethal doses of fentanyl to their victims.

"Fame and Fentanyl" is produced for A&E by Candle True Stories. Executive producers for Candle True Stories are James Goldston and Steven Baker. Erica Hanson serves as both executive producer and director and Graham McKay serves as co-executive producer. Ice-T and Jorge Hinojosa serve as executive producers. Elaine Frontain Bryant and Brad Abramson serve as executive producers for A&E. A+E Global Media holds exclusive, worldwide distribution rights to "Fame and Fentanyl" in all media.

Special will be available On Demand and to stream on the A&E App and aetv.com
