FROM INMATE TO INSIDER, OXYGEN'S "DEATH ROW CONFIDENTIAL: SECRETS OF A SERIAL KILLER" PREMIERES SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 13 AT 9:00 P.M. ET/PT
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - August 19, 2025 - Oxygen, the home of high-quality, true-crime programming, examines the gripping story of convicted killer Joseph Naso, and how a fellow inmate came to connect him to many additional cold cases, with the help of Investigator Ken Mains.
"Death Row Confidential: Secrets of a Serial Killer" debuts Saturday, September 13 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on Oxygen with a special two-hour premiere. The series continues with two back-to-back episodes on Saturday, September 20, at the same time.
Rachel Dodes, a Vanity Fair contributor featured in the series, speaks about the details of her own reporting on Naso in the latest issue of Vanity Fair, on newsstands now.
The multi-part documentary special examines the past of Joseph Naso, a killer convicted of murdering four women over a decade ago. Though police never proved it, investigators suspected many more victims died at his hands. Naso took his secrets with him to San Quentin, where his fellow inmate, William A. Noguera, says Naso confessed details about more than 20 unsolved murders. As he served his own sentence, Noguera became an amateur sleuth hoping to repay his debt to society by gathering clues that could help bring closure to families still searching for answers. He took 300 pages of notes about Naso, which he shared with Ken Mains, an ex-FBI investigator and cold case detective. Together, they uncover new victims and provide answers to families, as they aim to expose one of America's most prolific serial killers in real-time.
"Death Row Confidential: Secrets of a Serial Killer" is produced by Wolf Entertainment, Fireside Pictures, Universal Television Alternative Studio, a division of Universal Studio Group, and Vanity Fair Studios. Dick Wolf, Tom Thayer, Jason Wolf, Patrick DeLuca, Helen Estabrook, Sarah Amos, Claire Howorth and Liz Yale Marsh serve as executive producers. Kevin Brennecke serves as showrunner.
