BRITBOX GETS READY TO ROCK: SALLY WAINWRIGHT ORIGINAL SERIES "RIOT WOMEN" PREMIERES JANUARY 14

"Shetland" returns for its milestone tenth season; Calder and Tosh are tested like never before in New Year's Day premiere

Warmth in winter: "Death in Paradise" and "Beyond Paradise" Christmas specials debut on BritBox

· From BAFTA-winning writer and director Sally Wainwright (Happy Valley), Riot Women follows five menopausal women who form an unlikely punk band, rediscovering their voices and themselves in the process. Led by Joanna Scanlan (Slow Horses), Tamsin Greig (Friday Night Dinner), Lorraine Ashbourne (Sherwood), Taj Atwal (Line of Duty) and Rosalie Craig (Moonflower Murders), the bold, music-fueled drama celebrates friendship, rebellion and refusing to be silenced. The original series premieres on BritBox January 14 with two episodes. All screeners now available.

· For over a decade, Shetland has delivered on drama and deception. Inspired by the award-winning series from crime novelist Ann Cleeves (Vera), detectives Tosh (Alison O'Donnell, Holby City) and Carter (Ashley Jensen, Mayflies) are faced with another harrowing case in the Scottish isles. Revisit every twist and turn from the past nine seasons ahead of the latest installment. Shetland season ten premieres January 1 on BritBox.

· BritBox is unwrapping a lineup of holiday favorites this winter, including brand-new specials from Death in Paradise and Beyond Paradise. They're accompanied by festive episodes of Motherland, Mrs. Brown's Boys and Gardeners' World, streaming throughout December.

· Fresh off its 2025 BAFTA win for Best Drama, the third season of Blue Lights is now streaming on BritBox. Hailed as "the best cop show on British TV" (Rotten Tomatoes), the series continues to earn acclaim for its raw realism and emotional intensity. Often compared to The Wire for its unflinching portrayal of urban policing in Belfast, Blue Lights has become a benchmark for modern British drama. With shifting loyalties, new threats, and standout performances, season three delivers as one of the most critically acclaimed dramas on British television. The season three finale lands on BritBox December 18, and the series has already been renewed for a fourth season.

Nothing says Christmas like evil Santa, a 30-foot Christmas tree, Anne's (Philippa Dunne, Derry Girls) Christmas cocktails and very strict rules about where you can and can't drink mulled wine. Only Meg (Tanya Moodie, The Change) has an official party invite, but Julia (Anna Maxwell Martin, Ludwig), Kevin (Paul Ready, Bodyguard) and Liz (Diane Morgan, Cunk on Earth) tag along as her plus-threes. They struggle to fit in with the Alpha crowd, but for Julia, it's still a welcome distraction from playing festive butler to a house full of in-laws. Meanwhile, Liz is trying to ignore Christmas altogether, whilst Kevin is single-handedly stuffing, wrapping, roasting, parboiling, laying up, washing up and decorating himself into an early grave.

Julia has invited Kevin along too after learning his alternative was turkey crisps from the hotel vending machine with the other divorced dads. Kevin excitedly offers to whip up a full-on Persian feast. Liz (Diane Morgan, Cunk on Earth) also turns up when her ex falls asleep on a train following a massive Christmas Eve bender, letting her down on his first ever offer to host. Meanwhile, Amanda (Lucy Punch, Doc Martin) is spending Christmas Day with Johnny (Terry Mynott, Murder, They Hope), the kids and Johnny's new wife Tamara (Louise Delamere, Holby City). Which is fine. Really fine. It's fine.

In the courtroom, Jake (Dominic Rowan, The Crown) prosecutes Tyler with vigour whilst his defence barrister, Kate Barker (Georgia Taylor, Coronation Street), argues the reasons why her client should not be found guilty. But, just as the case finishes, Henry (Peter Davison, Riot Women) springs a surprise on Jake... he's found Alesha's (Freema Agyeman, Doctor Who) new replacement. · January 21, 2026: Tracey Ullman's Show S1 | New to BritBox | 6 x 30' | Released All at Once

The UK is a melting pot of characters and cultures. Each episode of Tracey Ullman's Show follows some of those characters, sometimes through their whole day, sometimes only for a single moment. The series features warm and entertaining characters that are observational and recognisable. Truthful with a dose of eccentricity, Tracey's (Black Doves) unique talents and extraordinary versatility cover the full gamut from everyday people to superstars. Each episode will have what is essentially an 'A' plot
- its own narrative sketch in a number of parts that follows a character's misadventures across a day. This story will form the spine of the episode, but the bread and butter of the show are the fantastic returning characters who reflect the modern world in all its guises. With its funny, bold, recognisable characters, the series addresses all kinds of things and all kinds of people. In short, Tracey Ullman's Show is a multiple character broken comedy show that shows off Tracey's talents to the full, as a one-woman comedy dynamo.

o January 21, 2026: Tracey Ullman's Show S2 | New to BritBox | 7 x 30' | Released All at Once

She's back! Award winning and multi-talented, Tracey Ullman (Black Doves) returns with a new series of Tracey Ullman's Show bringing her unique take on some extraordinary characters in the UK. Recurring favourites include delinquent Dame Judi Dench, Angela Merkel on a tourist bus, and the long suffering Kay with her overbearing mother escaping from a flood. New sketches take in a megalomaniac Nicola Sturgeon, the home life of Jerry Hall and Rupert Murdoch, and a rap battle for the soul of an inner city estate. All life is here, from a therapist who can't stop talking about her clients' secrets, to a spy using the huge resources of GCHQ to improve her daughter's exam prospects. The middle-aged man who ran his app business from a coffee shop in series one has moved on to a shared start-up office; and what happens when a dance group from the 1970's gets back together? Chameleon-like Tracey Ullman brings her hilarious take on celebrities and everyday characters to sketches and music numbers, with guest star appearances from Ben Miller (Death in Paradise) and Nigel Havers (A Cruel Love: The Ruth Ellis Story).

o January 21, 2026: Tracey Ullman's Show S3 | New to BritBox | 6 x 30' | Released All at Once

The award-winning and multi-talented Tracey Ullman (Black Doves) returns, bringing her unique take on some extraordinary characters. Over the course of the new season, Ullman uses her signature brand of sharp satire to shape-shift into a range of public figures and offbeat original characters. She reprises her characterisations of Dame Judi Dench, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall and Jerry Hall, and introduces her takes on British Prime Minister Theresa May, French First Lady Brigitte Macron and U.S. First Lady Melania Trump, among others. More topical than ever before, Tracey Ullman's Show satirizes today's culture, including television's latest obsession with strong but messy female characters, the future possibilities for smart-home devices, life in a post-Brexit world and the absurdity of the 24-hour news cycle. Guest stars include Samantha Spiro (Birgit), Ben Miller (Rupert Murdoch), Ben Willbond (Emmanuel Macron) and Anthony Atamanuik (Donald Trump).

· January 27, 2026: Hamish Macbeth S1 | New to BritBox | 6 x 60' | Released All at Once

Hamish MacBeth is an offbeat "whodunnit" series, spiced with laconic wit and outrageous black comedy. Hamish (Robert Carlyle, The Full Monty) is a young policeman, who has a shrewd knack of solving the bizarre cases that come his way. His beat is the apparently sleepy village of Lochdubh in the breathtaking scenery of the Scottish Highlands.

o January 27, 2026: Hamish Macbeth S2 | New to BritBox | 6 x 60' | Released All at Once

Hamish MacBeth (Robert Carlyle, The Full Monty) is the local police constable in Lochdubh in the Western Highlands. He likes fishing, walking in the hills and can see himself remaining a Highland constable for the rest of his days. MacBeth has two problems. One is crime. The other is promotion. He doesn't want it - in case he gets moved from his beloved Lochdubh.

o January 27, 2026: Hamish Macbeth S3 | New to BritBox | 8 x 60' | Released All at Once

Tongues are set wagging in Lochdubh when the lonely local laird, Major Maclean (David Ashton, New Tricks), returns home from holiday with a glamorous fiancee - but is it his animal magnetism or his Highland estate that Serena (Sally Dexter, Emmerdale Farm) finds so irresistible? Hamish (Robert Carlyle, The Full Monty) is to be best man at the wedding, but he already has his hands full coping with Anne Patterson (Sharon Small, The Bay), the overzealous WPC trainee who's been posted to Lochdubh.
