ALAN CARR SEARCHES FOR A HOME FIT FOR ROYALTY IN "CASTLE MAN" (W/T) FOR DISNEY+

Unscripted Hulu Original series from the UK is now filming in Scotland

LONDON, UK (22 January 2026) - After spending his twenties on the comedy circuit, his thirties in TV studios, and his forties becoming a national treasure, Alan Carr is now ready to take on the biggest gig of his life: purchasing and running a historic castle.

Disney+ will follow Carr on his property search, in a brand-new Hulu Original series, "Castle Man" (w/t), produced by Expectation, the award-winning production company behind Clarkson's Farm and Alma's Not Normal.

With Alan's 50th birthday fast approaching, he finds himself at a moment of reckoning, taking stock of where he is and where he wants to be. He has long dreamed of owning a grand château, but after a transformative and iconic stay at The Traitor's castle, that fantasy will now become a reality - or will it? He doesn't just want to visit a castle, he wants to build a life in one, a leap of faith driven entirely by Alan himself.

Alan Carr said, "Some men when they have a midlife crisis buy a Lamborghini or grow a ponytail, but me - I want my very own castle. Since I was a boy in Northampton, I've always dreamt big, and have always been enchanted with the history and romance of a stately home and as I turn fifty, I feel it's my time. All I want is a turret to call my own - get me over that drawbridge!"

Ben Wicks, Creative Director, Entertainment at Expectation and executive producer, adds, "What an incredible project: Alan Carr looking to buy a castle befitting his status as comedy royalty and a national treasure, and soon finding himself responsible for the very real, right royal pain of making it all work. We're delighted to be following Alan's dramatic - and undoubtedly hilarious - journey and doing so with Disney who thankfully have a great deal more history with castles."

Sean Doyle, vice president, unscripted, Disney+ commented, "Alan Carr is one of those rare talents who brings instant warmth, wit, and originality to everything he touches. We've watched him turn his hand to stand-up,gameshows, podcast, and presenting, but when we discovered he was looking to purchase a castle to run, we knew this was a journey we had to follow. Expect Alan in new territory, with all the same riotous entertainment you know and love."

"Castle Man (w/t)" is produced by Expectation, co-CEO Peter Fincham and Ben Wicks, Claire Walls, and Danny Julian are executive producing. Alan Carr also serves as executive producer. The series was commissioned out of the UK for Disney+ by Angela Jain, head of content, and Sean Doyle, vp, unscripted, EMEA.

Disney+ is available from £3.99 per month - with no hidden costs and the ability to cancel anytime. There's something for everyone to watch, with a lifetime of great stories and a constantly growing library of new TV shows, blockbuster movies, exclusive Originals, and live football throughout the year. From Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, and Hulu, Disney+ spans everything from documentaries to critically acclaimed drama, comedy to classic animation, and general entertainment. Customers can enjoy titles like "Vanderpump Villa", "The Kardashians", "Love Thy Nader" and "Grand Cayman Secrets in Paradise".

Robust parental controls ensure that Disney+ remains a suitable viewing experience for everyone in the family. Subscribers can set access limits on mature content and create PIN-protected profiles alongside the already existing Junior Mode profiles to give parents and guardians peace of mind.
