The ocean is calling - are you ready to answer?

That's the question posed by Breakers, a new Netflix series starring Antony Starr as 'Brando' (The Boys, Banshee, The Covenant, G20). The drama, which hails from writer Pete Jackson (The Death of Bunny Munro, Somewhere Boy), follows two backpackers who are sucked into what seems to be a perfect surfing community.

The series is produced by BBC Studios' Clerkenwell Films (Baby Reindeer, The End of the F***ing World) in partnership with BBC Studios Productions Australia.

Read on for more information about Breakers, now in production in Western Australia.

What is Breakers about?

Two best friends go backpacking in Australia and are soon drawn into a seemingly perfect community of surfers led by a charismatic but mysterious figure.

Breakers will be directed by Mary Nighy (Say Nothing, Industry) and Ng Choon Ping (What It Feels Like for a Girl, Femme), and executive produced by Gavin O'Grady (Somewhere Boy, This Way Up), Petra Fried (Baby Reindeer, The End of the F***ing World), Wim De Greef (Baby Reindeer, The End of the F***ing World), and Pete Jackson.

Who's in the cast of Breakers?

Antony Starr is the only cast member currently attached to Breakers. Stay tuned for more updates.

When will Breakers be on Netflix?

There's no word yet on a release date, but rest assured that the Breakers wave will crash onto Netflix sometime soon.
