FOX ENTERTAINMENT STUDIOS ADDS PROLIFIC WRITER-PRODUCER ETAN FRANKEL TO CREATIVE ROSTER WITH FIRST LOOK PRODUCING DEAL
Acclaimed Talent to Develop Premium Scripted Slate at FOX
Los Angeles, CA - February 24, 2026 - FOX Entertainment Studios today announced that acclaimed writer and producer Etan Frankel has entered into a first-look producing deal to develop and produce premium scripted series across genres.
A respected creative force with a proven track record in prestige drama and character-driven storytelling, Frankel is known for creating bold, emotionally grounded series that resonate with audiences and talent alike. His credits span some of television's most acclaimed dramas, including Joe vs. Carole, Sorry for Your Loss, Get Shorty, Animal Kingdom, Shameless, and Friday Night Lights.
Under the new partnership, Frankel will work closely with FOX Entertainment Studios' leadership to develop a strategic slate of scripted projects aligned with the studio's creative priorities, including premium drama, elevated genre storytelling, and distinctive, creator-driven series with global appeal.

Frankel is currently developing PRISM for Netflix, on which he will serve as showrunner and executive producer, along with Rachel Brosnahan, AGBO and Millie Bobby Brown, who will also star in the series. Most recently, Frankel spent four years in an overall deal at Universal Content Productions, where he served as creator and showrunner of Joe vs. Carole, starring Kate McKinnon, for Peacock. Prior to that, he was showrunner and executive producer on Sorry for Your Loss and an executive producer on Get Shorty, Animal Kingdom, and Shameless, where he wrote for seven seasons. Earlier in his career, Frankel was a writer on Friday Night Lights and began his professional journey as a playwright after graduating from the Juilliard Playwrights Program.
