NEW GOTHIC, THE (AMC, New!) - Hilarie Burton Morgan and Nick Gray have sold a new drama to the network: "Per its logline, The New Gothic redefines the legendary storytelling of the American South as it follows the collision of the enterprising Bloom family with the resurrected Mississippi Mafia. Set in a landscape stained by red clay and bad blood, villainy is commonplace. But power is singular." Mischief Farm's Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Authentic Management Productions' Liz DeCesare will also presumably executive produce. (Deadline.com, 3/5)
NEXT DOOR (Netflix, New!) - Tessa Thompson is attached to star in a new drama at the streamer billed as "a dark comedic thriller about marriage and paranoia in the modern American suburbs, inspired by movies in the vein of Little Children and Rear Window." "The creative differences were becoming untenable and I just sadly realized that the show was not something that I could agree to continue." (Deadline.com, 3/5)
TED (Peacock) - Seth MacFarlane has indicated there is "no plan" for a third season of the series. "What I kept hearing [from Peacock and Universal] was, 'Listen, the show is really expensive to produce and there's no way to do it at a lower cost,'" he told the publication. UNTITLED DEAN GEORGARIS/JOHN FOX DRAMA (NBC) - Jon Beavers is set to star opposite Emily Deschanel in the drama pilot as Will Andover, "who was the top profiler in his class at Quantico, but then he had a fall from grace. Now at a crossroads in his career, he desperately needs a win." Additionally, Jennifer Morrison has been confirmed to direct. (Deadline.com, 3/3)
