Berlin, March 19, 2026 - To be mindful means: perceiving needs, living in the moment - and taking care of your inner child. Because it wants to be seen, heard and understood. It asks questions and wants honest answers. It remembers. Quite precisely.

But sometimes, it also just wants someone to disappear...

With the eight-part second season of Murder Mindfully, the door to the most unusual journey of self-discovery in the German series cosmos opens once again on May 28 - this time with a particularly persistent companion: the inner child.

For Björn Diemel (Tom Schilling), this not only means dealing with external conflicts - with the entanglements and ongoing tensions surrounding his mafia activities. Above all, it means, together with Joschka Breitner (Peter Jordan), confronting his own conditioning: old hurts, deeply rooted beliefs and patterns that influence his actions more than he would like.

In season two, things are not only defended, but processed. Not only argued, but confronted - and all of this more entertaining, more surprising and, of course, more mindful than ever!

From May 28, 2026, only on Netflix.

About Murder Mindfully

Björn Diemel seemingly has his life under control: he has internalized the principles of mindfulness, quit his stressful job as a criminal defense lawyer and gone self-employed. He spends more time with his daughter Emily, argues more mindfully with his wife Katharina, but has, on the other hand, expanded his career with an unusual responsibility:

As legal representative of two mafia clans whose bosses he has mindfully made disappear from the scene, he must now take care of their affairs without revealing what really happened to the heads of the families. The only exception, and also the only person in on the secret, is a mafioso with a degree in educational sciences: Sascha.

He also runs the kindergarten above which Björn now has his office and apartment. Sascha has likewise moved into the house, which makes Björn's secret all the more secure.

Yet despite this bizarrely harmonious balance, Björn is plagued by inner unrest and a loss of control. Why can he not enjoy any of this?

His mindfulness coach Joschka Breitner identifies the reason: Björn's inner child. Unresolved conflicts from his childhood weigh on him more than he realized. While Björn tries to heal these wounds and make peace with his past, he must at the same time deal with the usual challenges of life - and ultimately discovers that his inner work not only brings emotional clarity, but also has practical consequences for his darker activities.

The first season of Murder Mindfully became a hit with audiences not only in Germany: the darkly humorous series reached Netflix's weekly Top 10 in 66 countries.

Murder Mindfully is based on the bestselling series of the same name by successful German author and lawyer Karsten Dusse. The first novel has so far been translated into 30 languages. The books in the Murder Mindfully series have sold more than four million copies in Germany alone.
