Lucy and Savvy were the golden girls of their small Texas town: pretty, smart, and enviable. Lucy married a dream guy with a big ring and an even bigger new home. Savvy was the social butterfly loved by all, and if you believe the rumors, especially popular with the men in town. It's been years since that horrible night, a night Lucy can't remember anything about, and she has since moved to LA and started a new life. But now the phenomenally huge hit true crime podcast Listen for the Lie, and its too-good looking host Ben Owens, have decided to investigate Savvy's murder for the show's second season. Lucy is forced to return to the place she vowed never to set foot in again to solve her friend's murder, even if she is the one that did it." MILLION DOLLAR NANNIES (Freeform, New!) - The cable channel will debut a new reality series with two episodes on June 17 with the entire season dropping on Hulu on June 18: "The series follows a young group of elite nannies, who head to Ibiza to launch a new kind of agency, built by nannies, for nannies. They're promised VIP families, life-changing money and a shot at something bigger than any of them could build alone. But fierce competition, personal drama and a scandal from the past threaten to derail the dream before the summer sets." Leah Barrs, Jack McCann, Mitchell Bienvenue, Taylor Hayward, Olivia McMahon, Hannah Joy Davis, Tamaya Denae, and Sydney Siegel star in the project. Andrea Metz, Michelle Peerali, Patrick Agans, Ross Weintraub, Reinout Oerlemans, Omid Kahangi, and Brandon Panaligan are the executive producers for Hi Mom Productions, 3 Ball Productions, and Walt Disney Television. (Deadline.com, 4/22)
NANNY DIARIES, THE (Netflix) - The streamer is developing a small screen take on the book-turned-film starring Scarlett Johansson of the same name by Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus. Amy Chozick and Jenny Bicks are behind the project: "The Nanny Diaries centers on Annie, a broke, aspiring writer in search of a story who takes a nanny job for a magnetic Upper East Side socialite, plunging into an elite world of unimaginable excess. When she lands the book deal of her dreams to go undercover and expose the salacious lives of the ultra-rich, Annie must try to keep up this double life even as she grows attached to the people and this world... and finds out what her elusive boss is actually capable of." Johansson, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, Jonathan Lia, Keenan Flynn, Gary Barber, and Sean Hoagland will also executive produce for Berlanti Productions, These Pictures, Spyglass Media Group, and Warner Bros. Television. Lifetime previously attempted to mount an adaptation in 2008, as did Amy Sherman-Palladino and ABC in 2011. (Deadline.com, 4/23)
NIGHT AGENT, THE (Netflix) - Titus Welliver, Trevante Rhodes, Li Jun Li, and Elizabeth Lail have all joined the cast of the show's fourth season. Welliver will play Duval, "a special DOJ prosecutor"; with Rhodes as Dom, "Peter Sutherland's (Gabriel Basso) new partner"; Li as "Dom's wife Min"; and Lail as "Peter's ex-fiancée Zoe." (Deadline.com, 4/22)
PARADISE (Hulu) - Emmy winner Julianna Margulies has scored a top secret role on the series' third season. (Deadline.com, 4/21)
RING BY SPRING BREAK (Hulu, New!) - The streamer has ordered an unscripted series from Fremantle: "The dating series drops single Christian college students into a steamy spring break in Cabo, where finding "The One" isn't a dream ... it's a deadline. As faith battles temptations in paradise, will they leave engaged or graduate alone?" Sam Dean, Jimmy Fox, and Emily Bon are the executive producers. (Deadline.com, 4/22)

(Deadline.com, 4/21)
SUMMER PEOPLE (Peacock, New!) - Emily Goldwyn has sold a new drama to the streamer: "Summer People follows three elite families and their nannies during a summer following a shocking tragedy. What everyone calls an accident, however, might just be murder. One nanny will try to get to the bottom of it before all the partying, power and privilege corrupts her." Bill Krebs will also executive produce for Universal Television. (Deadline.com, 4/21)
SUMMER SISTERS (Peacock) - The Judy Blume adaptation, originally in the works at Hulu in 2020, moved to Peacock in 2023 but currently does not have a streamer attached: "It is set in the summer of 1977 after Victoria Leonard's world changes forever when Caitlin Somers chooses her as a friend. Dazzling, reckless Caitlin welcomes Vix into the heart of her sprawling, eccentric family, opening doors to a world of unimaginable privilege, sweeping her away to vacations on Martha's Vineyard, an enchanting place where the two friends become summer sisters. Now, years later, Vix is working in New York City. Caitlin is getting married on the Vineyard. And the early magic of their long, complicated friendship has faded. But Caitlin begs Vix to come to her wedding, to be her maid of honor. And Vix knows that she will go - because she wants to understand what happened during that last shattering summer. And, after all these years, she needs to know why her best friend - her summer sister - still has the power to break her heart." Rachel Shukert and UCP are now behind the project, with Jenna Bush Hager of Thousand Voices also executive producing. Liz Tigelaar and ABC Signature were behind the Hulu incarnation. (Deadline.com, 4/21)
WHITE LOTUS, THE (HBO) - Helena Bonham Carter has exited the show's fourth season. "With filming just underway on Season 4 of The White Lotus, it had become apparent that the character which Mike White created for Helena Bonham Carter did not align once on set," an HBO spokesperson told the publication. "The role has subsequently been rethought, is being rewritten and will be recast in the coming weeks. HBO, the producers and Mike White are saddened that they won't get to work with her, but remain ardent fans and very much hope to work with the legendary actress on another project soon."
