ELLA RUBIN JOINS NETFLIX'S SERIES ADAPTATION OF "THE GOD OF THE WOODS"

· Today, Netflix announced that Ella Rubin (Sterling Point, The Idea of You) has joined The God of the Woods, a new series adaptation of the New York Times' bestselling novel by Liz Moore.
· From executive producers and co-showrunners Liz Hannah (The Girl from Plainville, Mindhunter, The Post) and Liz Moore (Long Bright River), The God of the Woods is a multi-generational drama series set in the Adirondacks, exploring the Van Laar family's dark secrets, class tensions, and the mysteries surrounding the disappearance of 13 year old Barbara Van Laar from her family's summer camp - in the wake of an earlier family tragedy that may be related. As the past and present collide, the Van Laars' wealth and influence unravel, revealing the damaging consequences of privilege and the abuse of power.
· Ella Rubin joins as "Louise Donnadieu" - A working-class counselor at Camp Emerson, Louise's life is upended when one of her young campers goes missing. (Series Regular)
· Rubin joins previously announced cast members Kerry Condon (Train Dreams, F1) and Maya Hawke (Stranger Things, Inside Out 2, Wishful Thinking).

· Ella Rubin Bio: Ella Rubin will next be seen starring in Megan Park's new Amazon/MGM series STERLING POINT, produced by Lucky Chap and Fake Empire. She is currently in production on Netflix's THE BOYS FROM BRAZIL, a series adaptation of the Ira Levin novel, opposite Jeremy Strong. She was seen leading the cast in Sony/Screen Gems' feature film UNTIL DAWN, directed by David F. Sandberg, and appeared in Netflix's FEAR STREET: PROM QUEEN. Rubin was previously seen in Sean Baker's critically acclaimed film ANORA, which won the 2025 Academy Award for Best Picture. She stars opposite Anne Hathaway in the Amazon feature THE IDEA OF YOU, directed by Michael Showalter. Her previous films include Sean Prince Williams's THE SWEET EAST, the independent feature ADULT CHILDREN, and Marc Lawrence's REWRITE. On the small screen, Ella was last seen in the Apple TV+ limited series MASTERS OF THE AIR from producers Amblin and Playtone. Rubin was previously seen in Hulu's THE GIRL FROM PLAINVILLE, where she shares the screen with Elle Fanning, the Netflix limited series THE CHAIR, opposite Jay Duplass and Sanda Oh, and the HBO Max reboot of GOSSIP GIRL. Additional television credits include the Hulu series DIFFICULT PEOPLE, Showtime's BILLIONS and CBS's UNFORGETTABLE. She made her Broadway debut starring opposite Marisa Tomei in Tennessee Williams' THE ROSE TATTOO, directed by Tripp Cullman for the Roundabout Theatre Company.
