Rulers of Fortune: Netflix Gathers Cast To Celebrate The Start Of Season 2 Production

Rio de Janeiro, June 18, 2026 - Netflix announced today the official start of production on Season 2 of Rulers of Fortune, the hit fiction series that dives deep into the power struggles and family dynamics within Rio's underground gambling empire (known as jogo do bicho).

To kick off the new season, the cast and special guests gathered at the Acadêmicos da Rocinha samba school in Rio de Janeiro for a special table read, complete with authentic samba and feijoada. In attendance were returning stars Adriano Garib, André Lamoglia, Bruno Mazzeo, Chico Diaz, Dandara Mariana, Giullia Buscaccio, Henrique Barreira, Juliana Paes, Mel Maia, Pedro Lamin, Ruan Aguiar, and Stepan Nercessian. The event also welcomed new cast members: Duda Matte, Elizabeth Savala, and Willean Reis.

Season 1 of Rulers of Fortune was a massive success, reaching Netflix's Global Top 10 and spending six weeks among the platform's most-watched non-English-language titles worldwide.

Produced by Paranoïd, Rulers of Fortune returns for its second season, expanding Netflix Brazil's crime-drama slate with authentic Rio de Janeiro flavor and a touch of melodrama. The series was created by Heitor Dhalia, Bernardo Barcellos, and Bruno Passeri. Heitor Dhalia serves as lead director, while Rafael Miranda Fejes and Matias Mariani direct individual episodes. The writing team includes Bernardo Barcellos, Gustavo Rademacher, João Iglesias, Manuela Cantuária, Marina Luisa Silva, Rafael Spínola, and Rosana Rodini. The series is produced by Egisto Betti and Manoel Rangel.
