MAD REALITIES AND FOX CREATOR STUDIOS
NEW YORK, NY, July 14, 2026 - PICKY EATERS, a fun and fast-paced new series set in the world of food and cooking, debuts today on Instagram and TikTok as a co-production kicking off the recently announced partnership between Mad Realities and FOX Creator Studios. PICKY EATERS is a cooking showdown where a guest chef takes on series host Mehreen "Reenie" Karim (Next Level Chef) to win over the ultimate food critic: someone who hates what they're being served.
In each episode of PICKY EATERS, a picky eater brings in their least favorite ingredient - think mushrooms, think olives, think licorice - and the chefs race against the clock to transform it into something irresistible. The picky eater tries both dishes and picks the one that repulsed them the least.
The premiere episode of PICKY EATERS features special guest, Jaeki Cho, of Righteous Eats.
Led by CEO and Co-Founder Alice Ma and Head of Content Emily Tess Katz, Mad Realties' growing slate of popular series, including SHOP CATS, which has been featured in Vogue, The New York Times, and the Today show, GOOD DOG, BLOW MY MIND, and HOLLYWOOD IQ and DATA LEAK.
"PICKY EATERS is truly everything we look for in a Mad Realities show: a concept everyone can immediately understand, personalities you root for, and a format that invites audience engagement, said Alice Ma. "Our goal is to platform and highlight a burgeoning, dynamic food scene in New York full of rising stars and direct-to-consumer audiences - like in the Cherry Bombe and Righteous Eats communities - that may not be getting platformed on typical network television. Food is the most universal element of culture, and everyone has an ingredient they swear they'll never eat. We are excited about growing shows like Picky Eaters into bigger franchises along with Billy Parks and the awesome team at FOX Creator Studios."
"Alice and the Mad Realities crew have a nose for ideas that are original, relatable, and just click," said Billy Parks, Head of FOX Creator Studios. "PICKY EATERS takes a universal theme - trying to convince someone to love the food they hate - and turns it into an experience that's funny, surprising and maybe even tasty. That's exactly the kind of creative storytelling our studio was built to champion."
PICKY EATERS host Mehreen "Reenie" Karim is a Brooklyn-based pop-up chef, recipe developer, and food writer. She was also a contestant on Season Two of Gordon Ramsay's culinary gauntlet Next Level Chef on FOX. Previously, Mehreen managed digital recipe building, wrote cooking stories, and developed recipes for Bon Appétit. She is happiest when she inspires home cooks to take risks in their day-to-day cooking - because infusing a tea bag into your morning pot of oatmeal or adding charred dates to a quick salad is never a bad idea. Whether you're a beginner in the kitchen or literally Gwyneth Paltrow (yes, she's a fan), her recipes are designed for hungry people at any skill level.
