Netflix Confirms Production of New Family Action Comedy Film 'Two Cops and Five Kids'
Netflix has announced the production and cast of Two Cops and Five Kids, a new family action-comedy film starring Cha Tae-hyun and Uhm Ji-won.
Two Cops and Five Kids follows a detective who suddenly finds himself solely in charge of all his five children when his wife leaves on a mission disguised as a trip. Just as he's trying to juggle parenting and preparing for his promotion exam, the whole family becomes unexpectedly involved in an operation to take down a criminal organization.
Cha Tae-hyun (Moving, Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds) takes on the role of Dong-sik, a detective and father of five. As both a cop and dad, Cha Tae-hyun is set to deliver a mix of relatable moments that evoke empathy and lighthearted laughter.
Uhm Ji-won (Dear Hongrang, Little Women) plays Kyung-ah, Dong-sik's wife and the mother of their five children, who also happens to be a former ace police officer. After spending 10 years focused on raising her family, she's drawn back into the field when she accepts a secret mission from the National Intelligence Service.
The film marks the first on-screen collaboration between Cha Tae-hyun and Uhm Ji-won, two of Korea's most beloved and respected actors. Beyond their much-anticipated pairing, audiences can also look forward to a family chemistry made richer by the five distinctive sibling characters: Spring (Do Young-seo), Summer (Kim Na-eun), Autumn (Jung Han-sol), Winter (Sim Ji-an), and April (Kim Ra-hee) - hinting at the playful, close-knit family dynamic at the heart of the story.
Directed by Kim Jong-hyun (Mr. Gam's Victory, Run Off), known for balancing strong ensemble casts, relatable humor, and warm storytelling, Two Cops and Five Kids promises a blend of action, comedy, and family love.
