Prime Video to Exclusively Stream Live-Action Drama Adaptation of "Please Save My Earth" in Autumn 2027
Alice Hirose and Director Takahiro Miki join Prime Video's adaptation of Landmark sci-fi manga by Saki Hiwatari
TOKYO - August 21, 2026 - Prime Video today announced that the Prime Original scripted series Please Save My Earth will premiere exclusively in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide in autumn 2027. The series is a live-action adaptation of Saki Hiwatari's acclaimed reincarnation-themed sci-fi romance manga, which has sold over 16 million copies since its 1986 debut. Alice Hirose leads the cast as Mokuren, with Takahiro Miki directing.
Please Save My Earth is the latest addition to the Prime membership. Prime members in Japan enjoy savings, convenience, and entertainment, all in a single membership.
Please Save My Earth follows Arisu Sakaguchi, a high school student who begins experiencing vivid dreams of a past life on a lunar base - and discovers her classmates share the same memories. As Arisu is drawn deeper into the mystery of her former existence, a young boy next door awakens to a past-life persona consumed by love for Mokuren. The intense passions and sins of their previous lives collide with the present, gradually revealing a shocking truth - and an unexpected connection between Arisu and Mokuren that binds their fates across lifetimes.
Alice Hirose, known for 366 Days (2024) and the Zenryoiki Ijo Kaiketsushitsu series, plays Mokuren, a member of the lunar base who harbors a profound secret that shakes the destiny of those living in the present day. Director Takahiro Miki, celebrated for his emotionally rich visual storytelling in Even If This Love Disappears from the World Tonight (2022) and Tomorrow I Will Date with Yesterday's You (2016), brings the narrative spanning past and present lives to the screen. THE SEVEN, winner of the Asian Academy Creative Awards VFX Grand Prix, handles visual effects, using cutting-edge technology to realize the lunar base and outer space sequences at an unprecedented scale.
