Netflix Confirms Action Noir Series 'The Shooter' (WT), Starring Lee Jung-eun and Kim Moo-yul
Netflix has confirmed production of its new series The Shooter (WT) and revealed its strong cast, including Lee Jung-eun, Kim Moo-yul, Huh Joon-ho, Choi Sung-eun, Bae Na-ra, Seo Hyun-woo, and Moon Jong-won.
The Shooter (WT) is an action noir series following Jeong Suk-ja, a woman in her seventies living an ordinary life, who takes up arms to avenge her grandson. With unpredictable twists and turns, she uncovers the secrets of the criminal organization she's up against - the powerful conglomerate Chunghwa Group. From Suk-ja's unlikely partnership with Seo Yeon-woo to the tangled web of characters tied to Chunghwa Group, the series offers a gripping, tension-filled ride. Lee Kwon (A Shop for Killers) directs, once again promising to captivate viewers worldwide.
Lee Jung-eun (Light Shop, Daily Dose of Sunshine) takes on the role of Jeong Suk-ja. Having raised her grandson on her own while working at a restaurant, Suk-ja's life is upended when he's left fighting for his life after a brutal attack by unidentified assailants. To avenge her grandson, she picks up a gun for the first time since her youth. The role marks Lee Jung-eun's first-ever action performance, following her acclaimed turn in My Daughter Is a Zombie - one of Korea's top-grossing films of 2025 - and further showcases her range across genres.
Kim Moo-yul (Teach You a Lesson, Sweet Home) plays Seo Yeon-woo, Sook-ja's ally and the mastermind behind the revenge. While visiting Suk-ja in the depths of her grief and rage, Yeon-woo reveals that her grandson's accident is connected to Chunghwa Group, awakening her instinct to hunt down the truth. With a wealth of information and sharp judgment, he aids her revenge yet seems to have slightly different motives. Fresh off his career-defining role in the global hit Teach You a Lesson, Kim Moo-yul returns with another hard-hitting performance - and reunites with co-star Lee Jung-eun four years after their collaboration in Juvenile Justice.
Huh Joon-ho (Notes from the Last Row, Mercy for None, Buried Hearts) plays Jang Kwang-cheol, the former leader of the Heukseong Gang and now chairman of Chunghwa Group, bringing the intense charisma and commanding presence he's known for. Rounding out the cast: Choi Sung-eun (My Name is Loh Kiwan, The Sound of Magic, Time to Be Strong, Beyond Evil) plays Shin Ji-hyun, head of Chunghwa Group's China office and director of Operations Unit 3; Bae Na-ra (The WONDERfools, Weak Hero Class 2, D.P. Season 2) is Cheon Tae-seok, assistant to the chairman of Chunghwa Group and director of Operations Unit 2; and Seo Hyun-woo (A Shop for Killers, Honour, The Fiery Priest 2) plays Yoo Il-koo, the black sheep of Chunghwa Group and director of Operations Unit 4. Moon Jong-won, who has built an impressive career across musicals and TV series, plays Um Sang-pil, the owner of a bed-and-breakfast with a mysterious past.
The Shooter (WT) will premiere only on Netflix.
