2027 U.S. Ryder Cup Captain Made Debut With USA Sports and Golf Channel This Year; Will Call This Week's TOUR Championship at East Lake Golf Club

STAMFORD, Conn. - August 26, 2026 - Jim Furyk has been named USA Sports and Golf Channel's lead analyst for its coverage of the PGA TOUR and men's major championships, it was announced today.

As part of his multi-year deal with USA Sports, Furyk - who is on the call for Golf Channel's TOUR Championship coverage this week - will be the lead analyst for men's major championship coverage, PGA TOUR Signature events and PGA TOUR Championship Series events. He will also contribute to Golf Channel's critically acclaimed Live From The Masters studio coverage.

"I'm thrilled to expand my role with USA Sports and Golf Channel to call the action at men's majors and the biggest PGA TOUR events for years to come," said Furyk. "I have really enjoyed my time in the booth and look forward to continuing to develop in the role, providing my expertise and analysis for golf fans, and working with everyone behind the scenes."

"Jim Furyk immediately elevated our golf coverage when he entered the Golf Channel broadcast booth for the first time earlier this year, and we were really impressed with his work-ethic and preparation," said Tom Knapp, EVP and GM, Golf Channel. "As a U.S. Open, champion, Jim brings next-level experience and expertise to our PGA TOUR and men's major championship coverage across Golf Channel and USA Network. We're thrilled to have him in the lead analyst role for years to come."

Furyk made his debut with USA Sports in March when he served as an analyst for Golf Channel's early round and weekend coverage of the PGA TOUR's Arnold Palmer Invitational Presented by Mastercard and THE PLAYERS Championship and contributed to Golf Channel's Live From The Masters studio coverage. Furyk led USA Sports' major championship coverage at this year's U.S. Open and Open Championship on USA Network and also called the PGA TOUR's Travelers Championship, where he carded the only 58 in PGA TOUR history in 2016.

A 17-time PGA TOUR winner, Furyk was named Captain of the U.S. Ryder Cup Team for the 46th Ryder Cup, which will be played in September 2027 at Adare Manor in Limerick, Ireland.

Furyk's impressive 30-plus year playing career is punctuated by his 2003 U.S. Open Championship victory at Olympia Fields. Furyk was also named the PGA TOUR Player of the Year and was the FedExCup Champion in 2010. He is also the only player in PGA TOUR history to have shot under 60 twice and the only player to have shot 58.

Furyk competed in nine consecutive Ryder Cups from 1997-2014 and has represented the U.S. in 14 consecutive editions of the Ryder Cup, serving as a player, vice captain, and captain. He also has represented the United States on seven Presidents Cup teams and captained the U.S to victory in the 2024 Presidents Cup in Montreal. Additionally, the West Chester, Pa., native has won three times on the PGA TOUR Champions, including the U.S. Senior Open at Omaha Country Club in 2021.

Beyond his accomplishments on the course, Furyk has been recognized with prestigious honors such as the Payne Stewart Award (2016) and the Francis Ouimet Award (2018) for his contributions to the game of golf.
