AMERICAN IDOL (ABC) - The series is moving production of its upcoming 25th season from Los Angeles to the Atlanta area in Georgia. (Deadline.com, 9/15)
BOSTON BLUE (CBS) - Marg Helgenberger will recur on the new season as Gwen Silver, "the estranged biological mother of Maggie Lawson's Sarah." (TVLine.com, 9/16)
CUPERTINO (CBS) - Cliff "Method Man" Smith will drop by the newcomer as "a rapper who picks a legal fight against an AI music studio that is negatively impacting his streaming revenue." (Variety.com, 9/15)
DISAVOWED (Apple TV) - Bokeem Woodbine has scored a yet-to-be-revealed role on the James Marsden-led series. (Deadline.com, 9/17)
ELSBETH (CBS) - Nat Faxon, Sam Richardson, and Lea Michele are all bound for the new season. Faxon plays Perry Macintyre, "the least popular member at the Nickerson Country Club, whose miraculous hole-in-one leads to murder"; with Richardson as Cody Baxter, "a born-and-raised Coney Islander and up-and-coming competitive eater with a deadly appetite for fame"; and Michele as Darcy Miles, "a Pilates Princess and trainer who, when asked to whip her girls into shape, flexes her muscles too hard." FAR CRY (FX) - Brendan Gleeson, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Hamish Linklater, Sam Spruell, and Jamie Demetriou are the latest bound for the video game-turned-TV series in top secret roles. (Deadline.com, 9/17)
HARD FEELINGS (Hulu, New!) - Multi-hyphenate Mary Beth Barone has sold a new comedy to the streamer which she'll star in alongside Benito Skinner: "Hard Feelings follows Claire Ambrose (Barone), New York City's most sought-after dating consultant, who teaches straight men communication skills and emotional intelligence while repeatedly choosing to date men who possess neither. Details about Skinner's character have not been revealed." Scott King and Mackenzie Roussos will executive produce alongside Barone and Skinner for Entertainment 360 and A24. (Deadline.com, 9/16)
HARRY POTTER AND THE PHILOSOPHER'S STONE (HBO) - The show's sophomore run has added Rafe Spall as Arthur Weasley, Molly Hewitt-Richards as Moaning Myrtle, and Jasper Ambrose as Colin Creevey. (Deadline.com, 9/15)
HEATWAVE (Hulu, New!) - Writer Anna Symon and director Shannon Murphy have scored a greenlight from the streamer for a new limited series: "Set on the idyllic island of Ibiza, Heatwave violently explodes the buried secrets of two families on a life-changing vacation. Provocative and unflinching, the series lays bare the knotty conflicts of midlife through the eyes of two couples - Daisy and Andy, Mac and Clare - whose reunion after years of lost contact threatens to destroy everything." Lucy Bedford of B Major Productions and Kathleen McCaffrey of Little Gems will also executive produce for Banijay UK. The project was previously set up at HBO Max in 2022. (Deadline.com, 9/18)
HUNDRED PERCENT, A (Netflix) - The upcoming comedy series has added Griffin Dunne as Chris, "the estranged father of Konstantine (Jason Mantzoukas), who resurfaces in his life just as his star is on the rise"; Zack Fox as Strick Lennon, "a popular live-streamer in the manosphere; Strick is Konstantine's stiffest competition, and promises to be a strong ally just when he needs one"; and Johnno Wilson as Alex, "a pioneer in the world of Longevity; he is the Chief Immortality Officer of a male-centered wellness empire and media conglomerate; very wealthy, very healthy, and very lonely." M.I.A. (Peacock) - The Miami-set crime-drama series has been canceled after one season. (Deadline.com, 9/12)
NCIS: NEW YORK (CBS) - Brian Dietzen's Jimmy Palmer of "NCIS" will drop by the spin-off's debut installment. (Deadline.com, 9/16)
RETRIEVALS, THE (Netflix) - Fabien Frankel and Will Harrison have both been cast in the upcoming drama. Frankel plays Ian, "the older brother and protector of Emilia Jones' lead character, Gabby Clemente"; while Harrison is Victor, "Gabby's high school sweetheart and now husband, who grew up in a big, loving family and can't wait to have his own." SHRINKING (Apple TV) - Former crew member Mindy Tessa McKoin has filed a lawsuit against Warner Bros. Television and executive producer Randall Winston alleging "the real reason she was canned is because of reporting an intentional "sexual abuse" by Winston at the Shrinking Season 2 wrap party on June 22, 2024, as well as her raising a stink about "inaccurate time records and pay statements."" SWEET MAGNOLIAS (Netflix) - The romantic drama starring JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Brooke Elliott and Heather Headley has been canceled after five seasons. Said report adds "the decision came down to whether to renew Sweet Magnolias for a sixth (and final) season or greenlight Ladies of the House, with [Sheryl J.] Anderson and Swisher shifting their attention to the new series." TRACKER (CBS) - Michael Malarkey has scored a recurring role on the series as Adam, "a private investigator for high-end law firms who runs into Reenie (Fiona Rene), an old friend he hasn't seen in years, and their familiar banter brings questions about their history and possible future." UNTITLED BLACK RODEO SERIES (Starz) - The upcoming drama has cast the following actors in recurring roles: John Gabriel Rodriquez as Francisco Morales, "the CEO of Morales Timber Company, a respected family business with shady ties"; SteVonté Hart as Langston, "a gifted musician and producer who could be exactly what aspiring local rapper Jojo has been waiting for"; Gabrielle Byndloss as Crystal, "a radio personality for Trinity City's local station, and she moonlights as a DJ and announcer for the rodeo - often keeping her in close quarters with Sebastian"; Samuel-Taylor Augustin as Ivan Robinson, "one of the top bull riders at the rodeo"; and Aaron Smalls joins as Hakeem, "the owner of Boots & Lace and Rodney's problematic on-again, off-again hookup." UNTITLED DAVID HYDE PIERCE PROJECT (NBC, New!) - Four-time Emmy winner David Hyde Pierce is attached to star in a multi-camera comedy at the network about "a man who discovers that the unexamined life can bite you in the ass."
