Tuesday's Broadcast Ratings: NBC, "America's Got Talent" Continue Their Reign

Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (8/8/17):

NBC (11.492 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.4, #1) dominated the competition on Tuesday with a new "America's Got Talent" (13.097 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.7, #1) and the season finale of "World of Dance" (8.282 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.0, #2).

CBS (5.457 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T2) then took home the silver with its trio of "NCIS" (6.018 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T5), "Bull" (5.022 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T5) and "NCIS: New Orleans" (5.333 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T3).

Next up was ABC (1.945 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T2) with repeats of "The Middle" (2.871 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T3), "Fresh Off the Boat" (2.091 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T5), "Black-ish" (1.845 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T5) and another "Black-ish" (1.817 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T5) plus a new "Somewhere Between" (1.524 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T11).

Meanwhile, FOX (1.512 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.4, #4) served up repeats of "Lethal Weapon" (1.772 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T5), "The Mick" (1.335 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T11) and "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" (1.167 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.3, #13).

And finally, second runs of "The Flash" (0.806 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T14) and "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" (0.664 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T14) on The CW (0.734 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5) rounded out the night.

· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.4/6; "Late Show with Stephen Colbert," 2.4/6; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.2/3.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.9/5; "Late Show," 0.4/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.4/2.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 0.9/3 in metered-market households and a 0.2/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.3/5 in metered-market households; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.0/4. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.4/4 in 18-49; "Late Late Show," 0.2/2.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 13 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (8/9/16):

NBC (33.625 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 9.9, #1) once again was the big winner on Tuesday with its coverage of the "Olympic Games Rio 2016" (33.625 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 9.9, #1).

ABC (2.521 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.7, #2) then was a very distant second with its mix of "Bachelor in Paradise" (3.885 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.1, #2), "Bachelor in Paradise: After Paradise" (2.427 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T5), "The Middle" (1.284 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T8) and "Fresh Off the Boat" (1.216 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T8).

Next up was CBS (4.281 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.6, #3) and its trio of "NCIS" (5.709 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.7, #3), "Zoo" (3.606 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.6, #4) and "NCIS: New Orleans" (3.530 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T5).

Meanwhile, FOX (0.993 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T4) opted for repeats of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" (1.092 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.4, #7), "New Girl" (0.782 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T8) and "Lucifer" (1.050 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T8).

And finally, The CW (0.931 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T4) closed out the evening with a repeat "The Flash" (1.002 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T8) and a new "MADtv" (0.861 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T8).
