Wednesday's Broadcast Ratings: NBC Holds Onto Top Spots with "Chicago" Dramas

Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (1/22/20):

NBC (7.808 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.0, #1) maintained its top spot on Wednesday with its trio of "Chicago Med" (8.367 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T1), "Chicago Fire" (8.128 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T1) and "Chicago PD" (6.927 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.0, #3).

Second place went to CBS (4.103 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T2) and its mix of "Undercover Boss" (4.435 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T6), "Criminal Minds" (4.458 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T6) and "SWAT" (3.418 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.5, #10).

Next up was ABC (2.965 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T2) with originals from "The Goldbergs" (4.050 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T4), "Schooled" (2.982 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T6), "Modern Family" (3.509 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T4), "Single Parents" (2.486 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.6, #9) and "Stumptown" (2.381 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T11).

Meanwhile, FOX (1.999 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.4, #4) opted for encores of "9-1-1: Lone Star" (2.135 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T11) and a second "9-1-1: Lone Star" (1.862 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T11).

And finally, the return of "Riverdale" (0.824 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.2, #14) and a new "Nancy Drew" (0.553 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.1, #15) rounded out the night on The CW (0.689 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5).

NBC (8.333 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.2, #2) then was the silver draw with its trio of "Chicago Med" (9.364 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.3, #2), "Chicago Fire" (8.416 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T3) and "Chicago PD" (7.219 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T6).

Next up was CBS (4.710 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T3) with night three of "Celebrity Big Brother" (4.496 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T6) alongside new episodes of "SEAL Team" (5.118 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T10) and "Criminal Minds" (4.516 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T10).

· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.9/5; "Late Show with Stephen Colbert," 2.6/7; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.7/5.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.4/3; "Late Show," 0.4/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.4/2.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.2/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.2/5 in metered-market households; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.0/4. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.3/3 in 18-49; "Late Late Show," 0.2/2.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
