Thursday's Broadcast Ratings: ABC Holds Off CBS in Adults 18-49

Here are the highlights of the 18 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (4/2/20):

ABC (5.820 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.0, #1) held off the demo competition on Thursday with originals from "Station 19" (7.290 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.1, #3) and "Grey's Anatomy" (7.139 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.4, #1) plus the return of "How to Get Away with Murder" (3.032 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T9).

CBS (7.137 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.9, #2) was a close second with its debut lineup of "Young Sheldon" (9.992 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.3, #2), "Man with a Plan" (7.137 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T5), "Mom" (7.622 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.0, #4), "Broke" (7.050 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T5) and "Tommy" (5.510 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T9).

Next up was FOX (2.667 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T3) with a new "Last Man Standing" (4.105 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T7) followed by repeats of "Last Man Standing" (2.795 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T9) and "Mental Samurai" (1.884 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T13).

Meanwhile, NBC (2.565 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T3) offered up its mix of "Superstore" (3.291 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T7), "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" (2.203 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T13), a repeat "Will & Grace" (1.510 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T15), "Indebted" (1.358 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T15) and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (3.513 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T9).

And finally, The CW (0.333 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.1, #5) opted for repeats of "Katy Keene" (0.413 million viewers, #17; adults 18-49: 0.1, #17) and "Legacies" (0.254 million viewers, #18; adults 18-49: 0.0, #18) to close out the night.

CBS (7.415 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.1, #1) was still the network to beat on Thursday thanks to originals from "The Big Bang Theory" (11.932 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.9, #1), "Young Sheldon" (10.315 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.4, #3), "Mom" (7.782 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.1, #4), "Fam" (4.983 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T8) and "SWAT" (4.741 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T8).

The silver then went to ABC (5.037 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.0, #2) with its trio of "Grey's Anatomy" (6.770 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.5, #2), "Station 19" (5.258 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.9, #5) and "For the People" (3.081 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.6, #11).

Next up was NBC (2.991 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.7, #3) and its mix of "Superstore" (3.108 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T6), "AP Bio" (1.990 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T12), the season finale of "Will & Grace" (3.011 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T8), "Abby's" (2.058 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T12) and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (3.889 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T6).

Meanwhile, FOX (1.278 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T4) opted for repeats of "Gotham" (1.221 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T14) and "The Orville" (1.334 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T14).

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.4/3; "Late Show," 0.4/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.3/5 in metered-market households and a 0.3/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.0/4 in metered-market households; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.1/4. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.3/3 in 18-49; "Late Late Show," 0.1/1.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.6/3 in metered-market households and a 0.2/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
