USA NETWORK MOST-WATCHED AND HIGHEST-RATED IN CABLE FOR THE WEEK

USA is #1 among households, key demos and total viewers

NEW YORK, NY � August 24, 2004 � USA Network was the most-watched and highest-rated network on basic cable for the fourth week of August. The network turned in a 2.0 rating in households, a 1.2 in P25-54 and a 1.0 in P18-49 in prime time this week, with an average of 2.4 million viewers tuning in, making USA the #1 basic cable network among households, key demos (P18-49 and P25-54) and total viewers. Ratings increased over the same week last year by +25% in households, +28% in P25-54, +37% in P18-49 and +31% in total viewers.

This week's episodes of the USA original series Monk and The Dead Zone ranked as the top two series programs on basic cable this week in households and P25-54. Friday's original Monk episode topped all primetime cable programs in households, key demos (P25-54 and P18-49) and total viewers for the week.

�Monk was the highest-rated original series this week on basic cable earning a 4.7 in households, a 3.1 in P25-54, a 2.4 in P18-49, with 5.8 million viewers tuning in. Monk was also the top-rated program on Friday on cable among households, P25-54, P18-49 and total viewers. The final episode of Monk's summer run outperformed last summer's finale one year ago by +21% in households, +46% in P25-54 and +45% in P18-49. Ratings for Friday's episode were also up vs. the prior season to date average by +19% in P25-54 and +25% in P18-49. Monk finished its summer cycle averaging a 4.0 in households, a 2.7 in P25-54, a 2.0 in P18-49, with 5.1 million viewers.

�The USA Network original series The Dead Zone polished off its third season with two back-to-back episodes that were the highest-rated original series programs on basic cable on Sunday among households, key demos (P25-54 and P18-49) and total viewers. The 9P episode earned a 2.4 in households, a 1.6 in P25-54, a 1.3 in P18-49, with an average of 3.1 million viewers tuning in. The 10P finale earned a 2.7 in households, a 1.8 in P25-54, a 1.4 in P18-49, with an average of 3.4 million viewers tuning in, outpacing last season's Summer finale one year ago by +31% in households, +31% in P25-54, +31% in P18-49, and +34% in total viewers. The Dead Zone's third season outpaced last season's performance with a 2.7 in households (+22%), a 1.7 in P25-54 (+27%), a 1.4 in P18-49 (+23%), with nearly 3.5 million viewers tuning in (+27).
