"60 MINUTES" PREMIERE WAS ITS MOST WATCHED IN SIX YEARS
Last Sunday's (25) premiere (10.8/17, 16.35m) of 60 MINUTES was the program's most watched season debut since 1999. The premiere broadcast also was the highest rated in adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 for a season opener since 1999.
60 MINUTES' household rating was the highest in Sunday's time period (8:00-9:00 PM), positioning the broadcast at number eight in the weekly Nielsen rankings in that category and at number 11 in total viewers.
Sunday's premiere featured Lesley Stahl's exclusive interview with Roy Hallums, an American kidnapped and held for 10 months by Iraqis; a Steve Kroft report on the hunt for Osama bin Laden; and Ed Bradley's profile of baseball superstar Derek Jeter.
