CBS placed second in viewers in the first of three weeks that will include the Winter Olympics, according to Nielsen ratings for the week ending Feb. 12, week 21 of the 2005-2006 television season.

CBS was second in both households (8.1/13) and viewers (12.59m), behind NBC's Olympic driven weekly win.

For the week in viewers, CBS (12.59m) trailed NBC (15.55m) and topped ABC (11.85m) and FOX (11.03m). Season-to-date, CBS (12.95m) leads ABC (11.58m), NBC (9.30m) and FOX (8.94m).

For the week in households, CBS (8.1/13) was -14% behind NBC (9.4/14), +7% ahead of ABC (7.6/12) and +23% ahead of FOX (6.6/10). Season-to-date, CBS (8.4/13) is first in households, outpacing ABC by +15% (7.3/12), NBC by +38% (6.1/10) and FOX by +50% (5.6/09).

-- CBS's Thursday primetime line-up beat the Opening Ceremonies of the Olympics on NBC by +6% in households (13.6/21 vs. 12.8/21), +11% in adults 18-34 (5.0/14 vs. 4.5/16), +14% in adults 18-49 (7.4/18 vs. 6.5/19), +13% in adults 25-54 (9.3/21 vs. 8.2/21) and +40,000 viewers (22.21m vs. 22.17m).

� SURVIVOR: PANAMA -- EXILE ISLAND won its time period in adults 25-54 (8.2/19), adults 18-49 (6.6/17), adults 18-34 (4.5/14) and was second in households (10.6/16) and viewers (18.75m, -0.48m behind ABC). SURVIVOR: PANAMA -- EXILE ISLAND from 8:00-9:00PM beat "Dancing with the Stars" by +25% in adults 18-34 (vs. 3.6/11), +29% in adults 18-49 (vs. 5.1/13) and +26% in adults 25-54 (vs. 6.5/15).

� CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION (9:00-10:01PM) was first in households (16.9/25), viewers (27.42m), adults 25-54 (11.7/25), adults 18-49 (9.3/22) and adults 18-34 (6.3/17).

� WITHOUT A TRACE was first in households (13.3/22), viewers (20.34m), adults 25-54 (7.8/18) and adults 18-49 (6.3/16). WITHOUT A TRACE beat "ER" by +48% in households (vs. 9.0/15), +3% in adults 18-49 (vs. 6.1/16), +7% in adults 25-54 (7.3/17) and +6.18m viewers (vs. 14.15m, +44%).

� TWO AND A HALF MEN won its time period in households (10.3/15), viewers (16.33m), adults 25-54 (7.0/14) and was second in adults 18-49 (5.4/12).

� COURTING ALEX was first in households (8.4/12), second in viewers (12.99m), adults 25-54 (5.8/12) and adults 18-49 (4.3/10).

� CSI: MIAMI won its time period in households (12.2/19), viewers (18.68m), adults 25-54 (7.9/18) and adults 18-49 (6.3/15).

� CRIMINAL MINDS TUESDAY SPECIAL (R) (S) (9:00-10:00PM) was second in households (7.9/12), viewers (11.99m) and adults 25-54 (4.4/09), topping all first run programming on the competition except for FOX.

� THE 48th ANNUAL GRAMMY AWARDS posted a 10.9/17 with 17.01m viewers, 7.8/18 in adults 25-54, 7.1/18 in adults 18-49 and 6.5/18 in adults 18-34. CBS Research estimates 44 million viewers watched all or part of Wednesday's broadcast.
