CBS PLACES FIRST IN VIEWERS FOR THE SEVENTH CONSECUTIVE WEEK OF THE SUMMER

Network Is Also First in Adults 25-54 For the Fourth Time in Five Weeks

CBS Has the Top Seven Scripted Programs of the Week

CBS placed first in viewers for the seventh consecutive of the summer and first in adults 25-54 for the fourth time in five weeks, according to live plus same day Nielsen ratings for the week ending July 16, week seven of the 2006 summer season.

CBS had the top seven most watched scripted programs of the week: CSI: MIAMI, CSI, CSI: NY, WITHOUT A TRACE, TWO AND A HALF MEN, HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER and CRIMINAL MINDS.

For the week in viewers, CBS (6.98m) topped FOX (6.47m), NBC (6.46m) and ABC (5.06m). Summer-to-date, CBS (7.64m) is first, followed by NBC (6.35m), FOX (5.95m) and ABC (5.49m).

For the week in households, CBS (4.7/09) was +9% ahead of NBC (4.3/08), +12% ahead of FOX (4.2/08) and +34% ahead of ABC (3.5/06). Summer-to-date, CBS (5.2/09) leads NBC (4.2/08) by +24%, FOX (3.8/07) by +37% and ABC (3.7/07) by +41%.

For the week in key demographics, CBS was tied for first in adults 25-54 (2.5/07, with both NBC and FOX) and third in adults 18-49 (2.0/06, -0.1 behind NBC). Summer-to-date, CBS is first in adults 25-54 (2.6/08) and third in adults 18-49 (2.0/07, -0.2 behind NBC and -0.4 behind FOX).

? BIG BROTHER: ALL STARS TUESDAY (P) was second in households (4.6/08), viewers (7.36m), adults 25-54 (3.1/09), adults 18-49 (2.8/09) and adults 18-34 (2.7/10) -- all behind FOX's All-Star Game. Compared to the Thursday premiere, BIG BROTHER: ALL-STARS TUESDAY was up +17% in adults 18-34 (from 2.3/09), even in adults 18-49 and on par in viewers (7.54m).

? ROCK STAR: SUPERNOVA TUESDAY (P) (3.1/08, 6.27m) posted a 3.1/08 in adults 25-54, 2.7/08 in adults 18-49 and 2.1/07 in adults 18-34, all against FOX's All-Star Game. While maintaining its adults 18-34 delivery in both half-hours (2.1), ROCK STAR grew in its second half-hour in both viewers and key adult demos:

Compared to last Wednesday's performance show premiere, ROCK STAR was up +24% in both adults 18-34 (from 1.7/06) and adults 25-54 (from 2.5/07), +23% in adults 18-49 (from 2.2/07) and added +970,000 viewers (from 5.30m, +18%).

? BIG BROTHER: ALL-STARS THURSDAY was first in households (4.6/09), viewers (7.03m), adults 25-54 (3.1/10), adults 18-49 (2.6/09) and adults 18-34 (2.2/08) for the second consecutive week. Compared to last week's premiere, BIG BROTHER: ALL-STARS retained 96% of both its households (from 4.8/09) and adults 18-34 (from 2.3/09), 93% of both its viewers (from 7.54m) and adults 18-49 (from 2.8/10) and 97% of adults 25-54 (from 3.2/10) deliveries.

? NCIS (R) was first in households (5.0/10), viewers (7.20m), tied for first in adults 25-54 (2.1/07, with ABC) and tied for second in adults 18-49 (1.5/06, with NBC and -0.2 behind ABC). NCIS was Friday's Number One program in households and viewers for the second consecutive week.

? THE UNIT (R) was first in households (3.8/07), viewers (5.29m), adults 25-54 (1.7/05) and tied for second in adults 18-49 (1.3/05, with ABC and -0.1 behind NBC).

-- The premieres of COLD CASE and WITHOUT A TRACE both placed first in viewers in their respective new Sunday time periods.

? COLD CASE (P) (R) was first in households (5.1/08), viewers (7.49m), second in adults 25-54 (2.5/06, -0.1 behind NBC) and tied for second in adults 18-49 (1.9/05, with NBC).

? WITHOUT A TRACE SUNDAY (P) (R) was first in viewers (6.59m), second in households (4.5/08, -0.1 behind ABC) and adults 18-49 (1.8/05).
