Wednesday Edition of "Rock Star: Supernova" Soars to its Best Ratings While Tuesday Edition Posts Week-to-Week Growth in Viewers and Key Demographics

CBS placed first in viewers for the 10th consecutive week (every week this summer), in adults 25-54 for the fifth straight week and in adults 18-49 (tie), according to live plus same day Nielsen ratings for the week ending Aug. 6, week 10 of the 2006 summer season.

CSI: MIAMI was the week's most watched program, marking the third straight week that a CBS drama has placed first in viewers (WITHOUT A TRACE ranked first last week and CSI: MIAMI the prior week).

CBS has six of the top 10 programs this week in viewers including the #1 and #2 programs of the week (CSI: MIAMI and WITHOUT A TRACE), the #1 sitcom (TWO AND A HALF MEN) and #1 news magazine (60 MINUTES).

For the week in viewers, CBS (7.43m) topped NBC (6.85m), FOX (5.56m) and ABC (5.25m). Summer-to-date, CBS (7.54m) leads NBC (6.41m), FOX (5.86m) and ABC (5.34m).

For the week in households, CBS (5.1/09) was +13% ahead of NBC (4.5/08) and +42% ahead of both ABC and FOX (3.6/06, each). Summer-to-date, CBS (5.1/09) leads NBC (4.3/08) by +19%, FOX (3.8/07) by +34% and ABC (3.6/07) by +42%.

For the week in key demographics, CBS was first in adults 25-54 (2.8/08) for the fifth consecutive week and tied with NBC for first in adults 18-49 (2.3/07). Summer-to-date, CBS is first in adults 25-54 (2.7/08) and tied for second in adults 18-49 (2.1/07, with NBC and -0.3 behind FOX).

? BIG BROTHER: ALL STARS TUESDAY (4.7/08, 7.33m) finished first in adults 25-54 (3.2/09), adults 18-49 (2.8/09), adults 18-34 (2.3/08) and second in households and viewers.

? ROCK STAR: SUPERNOVA TUESDAY (3.9/06, 6.28m) was second in its time period in adults 25-54 (3.3/09), adults 18-49 (2.9/08) and adults 18-34 (2.4/08). Compared to the performance show last week, ROCK STAR: SUPERNOVA TUESDAY was up +3% in adults 25-54 (from 3.2/08), +4% adults 18-49 (from 2.8/08), +4% in adults 18-34 (from 2.5/09) and added +90,000 viewers (from 6.19m, +1%).

? ROCKSTAR: SUPERNOVA WEDNESDAY (3.7/07, 5.76m) was second in adults 25-54 (3.1/09) and adults 18-49 (2.6/09, -0.2 behind NBC). ROCK STAR: SUPERNOVA WEDNESDAY posted its best Wednesday viewers, adults 18-34, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 deliveries this season. Compared to last week, ROCK STAR SUPERNOVA WEDNESDAY was up +9% in households (from 3.4/06), +15% in adults 25-54 (from 2.7/08), +13% in adults 18-49 (from 2.3/08), +24% in adults 18-34 (from 1.7/06) and added +290,000 viewers (from 5.47m, +5%).

? BIG BROTHER: ALL-STARS THURSDAY won its 8:00PM time slot in households (4.6/08), viewers (6.96m), adults 25-54 (2.9/09), adults 18-49 (2.6/09) and adults 18-34 (2.3/09) for the fifth consecutive week. Compared to last week, BIG BROTHER: ALL-STARS THURSDAY was up +5% in households (from 4.4/08), +4% in adults 25-54 (from 2.8/09), +4% in adults 18-49 (from 2.5/09) and even in adults 18-34.

? BIG BROTHER: ALL STARS SUNDAY posted its best delivery to date in households (4.4/08), viewers (6.73m) and adults 18-34 (2.1/07) and matches the best delivery in adults 18-49 (2.4/07) and adults 25-54 (2.8/08). BIG BROTHER: ALL STARS SUNDAY was up +10% in households (from 4.0/07), +4% in both adults 25-54 (from 2.7/08) and adults 18-49 (from 2.3/07) and +17% in adults 18-34 (from 1.8/07) compared to last week.
