October 24, 2006 (Burbank, CA) -- Through five weeks of the season, The CW Network is out-performing The WB through the same point last year with regularly scheduled programming in the network's target demos of adults 18-34 (1.7/5, +6%) and women 18-34 (2.2/7, +5%). The CW mirrors The WB's scheduling model with 6 nights and 13 hours of primetime programming.

Season to date, The CW matches UPN, which only programmed 10 hours of prime time, with regularly scheduled programming in all demos, including adults 18-34 and women 18-34.

Monday 10/16/06

The move to Monday has given a dramatic boost to all of The CW comedies compared to their last two telecasts on Sunday night, including:

"Everybody Hates Chris" is up 75% in adults 18-34 (1.4/4), 50% in women 18-34 (1.8/5), 44% in adults 18-49 (1.3/4), 23% in women 18-49 (1.6/4) and 26% in viewers (3.0mil).

"All of Us" improved 56% in adults 18-34 (1.4/4), 36% in women 18-34 (1.9/5), 30% in adults 18-49 (1.3/3), 31% in women 18-49 (1.7/4) and 20% in viewers (2.8mil).

"Girlfriends" is up 42% in adults 18-34 (1.7/4), 35% in women 18-34 (2.3/6), 15% in adults 18-49 (1.5/3), 24% in women 18-49 (2.1/5) and 8% in viewers (3.1mil).

And "The Game" improved 25% in adults 18-34 (1.5/4), 18% in women 18-34 (2.0/5), 8% in adults 18-49 (1.3/3) and 6% in women 18-49 (1.7/4).

The CW's Monday block of comedies also improved over the last original Monday of "7th Heaven" and "Runaway" (10/2/06), with growth of 15% in adults 18-34 (1.5/4), 5% in women 18-34 (2.0/5), 8% in adults 18-49 (1.3/3), 6% in women 18-49 (1.8/4).

Tuesday 10/17/06

With "Gilmore Girls" and "Veronica Mars," The CW scored its best Tuesday to date in adults 18-34 (2.1/6), and tied its best Tuesday in adults 18-49 (1.7/4) and women 18-49 (2.5/6).

For the third consecutive week, "Gilmore Girls" ranked second in the hour with its target demo of women 18-34 (3.8/10), behind only "Dancing With The Stars." "Gilmore Girls" was third from 8:00-9:00PM among women 18-49 (3.2/8).

"Gilmore Girls" scored its most watched episode (4.8mil) of the season and matched last week's season highs in adults 18-34 (2.4/7), adults 18-49 (2.1/5) and women 18-49 (3.2/8).

"Veronica Mars" improved week to week by 13% in adults 18-34 (1.7/5), 8% in adults 18-49 (1.4/3) and 5% in viewers (3.1mil).

With this week's gains, "Veronica Mars" matched its season best adults 18-34 (1.7/5) and adults 18-49 (1.4/3). This matches its second best rating in the show's history in adults 18-49.

Wednesday 10/18/06

"America's Next Top Model" ranked second in its time period among women 18-34 (4.4/13) and women 18-49 (3.7/10), behind only ABC.

Friday 10/20/06

"Friday Night SmackDown" climbed to its largest audience on The CW in adults 18-34 (1.6/6-tie), men 18-34 (2.0/9-tie), adults 18-49 (1.5/5), men 18-49 (2.1/7), teens (2.7/12) and viewers (4.7mil). "SmackDown" scored week-to-week gains of 7% in adults 18-34, 5% in men 18-34, 7% in adults 18-49, 17% in men 18-49, 80% in teens and 22% in viewers.

"SmackDown" won Friday for The CW among men 18-34 and teens, and ranked second among men 18-49.
