"NBC SNF" Wins Night in Metered Markets, Outrates "Desperate Housewives"

NEW YORK � Nov. 13, 2006 � Last night's Bears-Giants "NBC Sunday Night Football" matchup, won by Chicago 38-20, drew a 13.6/20 in the metered market overnight ratings, giving NBC a primetime win and outrating every show head-to-head, including an original "Desperate Housewives." The 13.6/20 is even with last year's Week 10 ABC "Monday Night Football" game, which featured the Dallas Cowboys 21-20 fourth-quarter comeback win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

NBC rated an 11.0 overnight rating for the night in primetime, 108 percent higher than the same night last year (5.3). The 13.6 for "NBC SNF" is up 131% versus NBC's 8:30-11 p.m. 5.9 average on the same night last year.

NBC drew a 14.4 overnight rating between 9-10 p.m., outrating all of its competition, including an original episode of "Desperate Housewives" (14.2).

Final national ratings will be available tomorrow.

Next week, "NBC Sunday Night Football" presents its second "flex game," an AFC West showdown between LaDanian Tomlinson and the 7-2 San Diego Chargers vs. the 7-2 Denver Broncos. The NFL this season is implementing for the first time in its history a primetime "flexible scheduling" element on Sundays in Weeks 10-15 and in Week 17 to ensure quality matchups with playoff implications in those weeks and give surprise teams a chance to play their way onto Sunday Night.

NEW YORK � Nov. 14, 2006 � Sunday night's "NBC Sunday Night Football" Bears-Giants matchup, won by a dominating Chicago 38-20, averaged 19.4 million viewers, up five percent from the Week 10 game on ABC's "Monday Night Football" in 2005 and driving NBC to win the night in primetime versus all other networks in both viewers and the Adults 18-49 demographic, according to national ratings from Nielsen Media Research.

Through ten games, "NBC SNF" is averaging 18 million viewers, nine percent ahead of "MNF" through this same point last season (16.5 million).

Sunday Night's game drew a 12.4 household rating and 19 share, equal to last season's Week 10 Cowboys fourth-quarter comeback victory over the Eagles on Monday night (12.4/20). Through ten games, "NBC SNF" is averaging an 11.5/18, up six percent from "MNF" through ten games last season (10.9/18).

NBC has now won three consecutive Sundays in primetime in total viewers and in Adults 18-49 and has won four Sundays this season in Adults 18-49, more than any other network.

Versus the comparable night on NBC in 2005, NBC's Sunday primetime this week was up 141 percent in 18-49 (6.5/15 vs. 2.7/6) and up 144 percent in total viewers (16.859 million vs. 6.901 million).

48 million total, unduplicated viewers watched all or part of Bears-Giants Sunday night, up 20 percent from the total audience for MNF's Week 10 game last season (40 million).
