CBS Wins Every Half Hour in Viewers and Demos on Thursday and Friday

"CSI" Is the Week's Top Scripted Program in Viewers

"Shark" Swims in the Top 10 For the Second Straight Week

CBS placed first in viewers for the third consecutive week and second in key demographics for the sixth straight week as the Network was boosted by coverage of the NCAA MEN'S BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME (Ohio State vs. Florida) and clean sweeps in viewers and demos on Thursday and Friday, according to Nielsen Live Plus same-day ratings for the week ending April 8, week 29 of the 2006-2007 television season.

For the week in viewers, CBS (11.51m) topped FOX (9.66m), ABC (9.32m) and NBC (7.07m). Season-to-date in viewers, CBS (12.74m) is first followed by FOX (10.21m), ABC (9.80m) and NBC (9.26m).

For the week in households, CBS (7.3/12) was +20% ahead of ABC (6.1/10), +24% ahead of FOX (5.9/10) and +55% ahead of NBC (4.7/08). Season-to-date in households, CBS is first (8.0/13), ahead of ABC and FOX by +27% (6.3/10, each) and NBC by +33% (6.0/10).

For the week in key demographics, CBS was second in both adults 25-54 (4.0/11, -0.1 behind FOX) and adults 18-49 (3.2/09). Season-to-date, CBS is first in adults 25-54 (4.8/12) and second in adults 18-49 (3.8/10, -0.2 behind FOX).

CBS's Weekly Highlights:

PRELUDE TO A CHAMPIONSHIP (S) (9:00-9:15PM) delivered a 7.6/12 in households with 11.94m viewers and 4.5/12 in adults 25-54, 5.4/15 in men 25-54, 4.0/12 in adults 18-49, 5.1/16 in men 18-49, 3.8/12 in adults 18-34 and 5.0/17 in men 18-34. Compared to the same special last year, CBS was up +17% in both households and men 25-54, +22% in adults 25-54, +25% in adults 18-49, +31% in men 18-49, +41% in adults 18-34 and +56% in men 18-34.

? NCAA BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME "Ohio St. vs. Florida" (S) (9:15-11:34PM) posted a 12.2/20 in households with 19.56m viewers, 7.4/19 in adults 25-54, 9.6/25 in men 25-54, 7.2/19 in adults 18-49, 9.8/27 in men 18-49, 6.9/20 in adults 18-34 and 9.9/29 in men 18-34. CBS led the 9-11PM time period in households, viewers and key adult and men demos. Compared to the same event last year ("UCLA vs. Florida"), CBS was up +9% in households, +4% in both adults 25-54 and men 25-54, +16% in adults 18-49, +23% in men 18-49, +25% in adults 18-34 and +39% in men 18-34.

-- Nielsen Media Research reports that 40.3m viewers watched all or part of Monday's game. 132.7m viewers watched all or part of the Tournament on CBS this year.

-- Thursday, CBS was first in households (10.3/17), viewers (16.83m), adults 25-54 (6.3/17) and adults 18-49 (5.0/14). CBS won every half-hour in the households, viewers, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54.

? SURVIVOR: FIJI was first in households (8.0/14), viewers (13.58m), adults 25-54 (5.4/15) and adults 18-49 (4.3/13). SURVIVOR: FIJI topped "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader" by +31% in households (vs. 6.1/10), +42% in adults 25-54 (vs. 3.8/11), +23% in adults 18-49 (vs. 3.5/11) and by +3.25m viewers (vs. 10.33m, +31%).

? CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION (9:00-10:01PM) was first in households (13.0/21), viewers (21.69m), adults 25-54 (8.2/21) and adults 18-49 (6.7/18).

? SHARK (10:01-11:00PM) was first in households (9.9/17), viewers (15.10m), adults 25-54 (5.2/14) and adults 18-49 (3.9/11). SHARK has won its time period 9 times in the last 10 airings in both households and viewers and for the last four broadcasts in a row in both adults 18-49 and adults 25-54.

-- CBS was first Friday in households (6.6/12), viewers (10.47m), adults 25-54 (3.6/11) and adults 18-49 (2.6/09). For the third consecutive Friday, CBS won every half-hour in households, viewers, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54.

? GHOST WHISPERER was first in households (6.2/12), viewers (9.66m), adults 25-54 (3.4/11) and adults 18-49 (2.5/09).

? CLOSE TO HOME was first in households (6.9/12), viewers (10.82m), adults 25-54 (3.3/09) and adults 18-49 (2.5/08). CLOSE TO HOME posted its best household ratings since 2/16/07, best viewer total since 1/5/07 and best adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 delivery since 2/23/07.
