TBS Continues Hot Comedy Winning Streak As Premiere of THE BILL ENGVALL SHOW Joins Ad-Supported Cable's Top Sitcom Telecasts of All Time

3.9 Million Viewers Tune In To TBS's Newest Original Comedy

THE BILL ENGVALL SHOW Airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m., Only on TBS

TBS has done it again. The network that first entered original sitcom territory at the end of last year has once again scored a chart-topping premiere, this time with THE BILL ENGVALL SHOW, according to data from Nielsen Media Research. The series' debut telecast last night delivered 3.9 million viewers and 2.8 million households, securing a place among ad-supported cable's Top 3 sitcom telecasts (original or acquired) of all time among households and Top 5 original sitcom telecasts of all time among key adult demos and viewers.

"With a track record of success that now includes THE BILL ENGVALL SHOW, the critically acclaimed hit series MY BOYS and the record-breaking sitcom Tyler Perry's HOUSE OF PAYNE, TBS has established itself as television's destination for great prime-time original comedy," said Steve Koonin, president of Turner Entertainment Networks. "We are thrilled to be working with Bill on this wonderful sitcom and are extremely proud that audiences across the country have embraced it so enthusiastically."

Ratings highlights for the premiere of THE BILL ENGVALL SHOW on TBS:

Set in a Denver suburb, THE BILL ENGVALL SHOW casts the Blue Collar Comedy headliner as Bill Pearson, a family counselor whose own family is unpredictable, somewhat absurd and a little mixed up themselves. Nancy Travis (Becker, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants) plays his wife, Susan, who is trying to make sure their three children turn out all right. Filling out the rest of the family, Jennifer Lawrence (Devil You Know) plays Bill and Susan's teenage daughter, Lauren, while their sons are played by Graham Patrick Martin (Law & Order: Criminal Intent) as Trent, a sports and video game enthusiast, and Skyler Gisondo (Huff) as Bryan, a musically talented neat freak with a pet snake. Tim Meadows (Saturday Night Live) and Steve Hytner co-star as Bill's best friends.

THE BILL ENGVALL SHOW is written and created by Engvall and Michael Leeson (The War of the Roses), who also serve as executive producers with J.P. Williams (Blue Collar TV) and director James Widdoes (Two and a Half Men). The series is being produced by TBS with Leeson's Welladay, Inc. and Williams' Parallel Entertainment.
