"Mother" Up +10% in Adults 18-49; "Big Bang" Gains+13% in Adults 18-49

CBS Places Solid Second in Viewers and Key Demos on Monday

CBS's 8:00-9:00 PM comedies - HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER and THE BIG BANG THEORY - each posted significant week-to-week gains in viewers and key demographics, according to Nielsen preliminary live plus same day ratings for Monday, Oct. 22.

HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER was second in households (5.5/08), viewers (8.60m), adults 25-54 (4.0/10) and adults 18-49 (3.4/09). Compared to last week, HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER was up +10% in both households (from 5.0/08) and adults 18-49 (from 3.1/09), +18% in adults 25-54 (from 3.4/09) and added +890,000 viewers (from 7.71m, +12%).

THE BIG BANG THEORY was second in households (5.6/08), viewers (8.72m), adults 25-54 (4.2/09) and adults 18-49 (3.5/09). THE BIG BANG THEORY built on its HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER lead-in by +2% in households, +5% in adults 25-54, +3% in adults 18-49 and added +120,000 viewers.

Compared to last week, THE BIG BANG THEORY was up +8% in households (from 5.2/08), +14% in adults 25-54 (from 3.7/09), +13% in adults 18-49 (from 3.1/08) and added +780,000 viewers (from 7.94m, +10%).

TWO AND A HALF MEN was second in households (8.6/12), viewers (13.74m), adults 25-54 (6.2/13) and adults 18-49 (4.8/11). Compared to last week, TWO AND A HALF MEN was up +3% in adults 25-54 (from 6.0/13), +2% in adults 18-49 (from 4.7/10) and added +50,000 viewers (from 13.69m).

RULES OF ENGAGEMENT (7.0/10, 10.82m) averaged a 4.9/10 in adults 25-54 and 3.9/09 in adults 18-49.

CSI: MIAMI was first in households (10.3/17), viewers (15.48m), adults 25-54 (5.8/14), adults 18-49 (4.5/11) and adults 18-34 (3.2/08). CSI: MIAMI is the night's top scripted program in households and viewers.

For the night, CBS was second in households (7.9/12), viewers (12.14m), adults 25-54 (5.1/12) and adults 18-49 (4.1/10).
