Quick Take for Monday, January 7, 2008 (Fast Affiliate Live + Same Day Ratings)

Agaisnt Fox's BCS Championship Game and NBC's "American Gladiators" and "Deal Or No Deal," ABC's "Dance War" Debut Earns Second in Viewers and Key Women

"Dance War" Generates ABC's Strongest Performance in the Time Period in 6 Weeks

"October Road" Jumps from its Most Recent Telecast By 22% in Total Viewers and by 20% in Adults 18-49

"Dance War" (8:00-10:00 p.m.)

Opposite Fox's BCS Championship Game (Ohio State-LSU) and NBC's combo of "American Gladiators" and "Deal or No Deal" from 8:00-10:00 p.m., ABC's debut telecast of "Dance War" earned second place in its 2-hour time period in Total Viewers (11.0 million), Women 18-49 (4.3/10-tie) and Women 25-54 (5.3/12).

� Despite stiff competition, "Dance War" generated ABC's largest audience (11.0 million) and top Adult 18-49 rating (3.0/7) in the time period in 6 weeks � since 11/26/07.

"October Road" (10:00-11:00 p.m.)

During the 10 o'clock hour, ABC's "October Road" grew from its most recent telecast (12/17/07) by 22% in Total Viewers (5.0 million vs. 4.1 million) and by 20% in Adults 18-49 (1.8/4 vs. 1.5/4).

A note about increasing DVR penetration and year to year rating comparisons: Year-to-year rating trends based on the Live + Same Day data stream may be somewhat distorted by the level of DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample, which has nearly doubled over 11% at the same point in 2006 up to over 21% currently. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the overnight next day numbers. Therefore, the only truly valid year-to-year comparison would be one based on the Live + 7 Day metric, once those stats are released by Nielsen.
