"Criminal Minds" and "CSI: NY" Post Best Adult 18-49 Ratings Since Their First-Run Return

The return of CBS's first-run scripted series continued to dominate as the Network posted three of the Top Five and seven of the Top 10 scripted series, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending April 20, week 30 of the 2008-2009 television season.

NCIS, TWO AND A HALF MEN, CSI: NY, CRIMINAL MINDS, CSI: MIAMI, CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION (R) and RULES OF ENGAGEMENT comprised seven of the top 10 scripted programs.

For the week in viewers: CBS (8.54m), FOX (8.75m), ABC (7.91m) and NBC (7.33m). Season-to-date, CBS is second in viewers (10.46m), behind FOX (11.30m) and ahead of ABC (9.14m) and NBC (8.33m).

For the week in key demographics, CBS was second in adults 25-54 (3.0/08) and averaged a 2.3/07 in adults 18-49. Season-to-date, CBS is second in adults 25-54 (3.8/09) and tied for second in adults 18-49 (3.0/08, with ABC).

For the week in households: CBS (5.6/09), FOX (5.3/09) ABC (5.2/09) and NBC (4.8/08, +17%). Season-to-date, CBS is tied for first (6.7/11, with FOX) and +14% ahead of ABC (5.9/10) and +26% ahead of NBC (5.3/09).

-- Monday, CBS was first in adults 25-54 (4.4/11), adults 18-49 (3.6/09) and second in both households (6.6/10) and viewers (10.22m).

? TWO AND A HALF MEN was first in adults 25-54 (6.4/14), adults 18-49 (5.3/13), adults 18-34 (3.5/09) and second in both households (8.5/13) and viewers (13.94m). TWO AND A HALF MEN was Monday's top rated program in adults 25-54, adults 18-49 and adults 18-34.

? RULES OF ENGAGEMENT (P) (6.6/10, 10.40m) was first in adults 25-54 (4.9/11) and adults 18-49 (4.1/10), second in viewers. Compared to the program's live plus same day first run average this season, RULES OF ENGAGEMENT was up +3% in adults 18-49 (from 4.0/09) and retained 96% of its households (from 6.9/10), 94% of both adults 25-54 (from 5.1/11) and viewers (from 11.02m).

? NCIS was second in households (9.4/15), viewers (15.13m) and adults 25-54 (4.4/11). Compared to the program's first run return last week, NCIS was up +7% in households (from 8.8/14), +2% in adults 25-54 (from 4.3/11), +3% in adults 18-49 (3.1/08 from 3.0/08) and added +1.08m viewers (from 14.05m, +8%).

? CRIMINAL MINDS was second in households (8.2/13), viewers (12.98m), adults 25-54 (4.6/11) and adults 18-49 (3.5/09) - all behind "American Idol". This is CRIMINAL MINDS's best delivery in adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 since returning with first run episodes. Compared to last week, CRIMINAL MINDS was up +5% in adults 25-54 (from 4.4/10) and +6% in adults 18-49 (3.3/08).

? CSI: NY was first households (8.6/14), viewers (13.43m), adults 25-54 (4.8/12) and adults 18-49 (3.9/10). This is CSI: NY's best delivery in viewers and adults 18-49 and matched the best adults 25-54 performance since returning from the first-run episodes. Compared to last week, CSI: NY was up +8% in households (from 8.0/13), +12% in adults 25-54 (from 4.3/11), +22% in adults 18-49 (from 3.2/08) and added +1.05m viewers (from 12.38m, +8%).

? SURVIVOR: MICRONESIA was first in households (7.3/13), viewers (12.01m), adults 25-54 (5.0/14) and adults 18-49 (3.9/12). SURVIVOR: MICRONESIA was Thursday's #1 program in households, viewers and adults 25-54.
