Season Five Premiere Episode of 'Deadliest Catch' Sees Largest Audience In Series History
The Tuesday, April 14 at 9PM premiere episode of DEADLIEST CATCH ranked #1 on ad-supported cable among all key demos and in prime that night with a delivery of 4158K in P2+ and a HH rating of 3.0. The episode ranked #4 in delivery (1589K) among M18-49 on both cable and broadcast networks in prime, following FOX's AMERICAN IDOL and FRINGE and NBC's THE BIGGEST LOSER.
This season five premiere episode had the largest average audience in the series' history across most key demos, including P18-49 (2600K) and P25-54 (2782K), and exceeded the P2+ average for the launch of season four (4/15/08, 9PM) by 23 percent.
OUT OF THE WILD: THE ALASKA EXPERIMENT, which premiered Tuesday, April 14 at 10PM, saw triple-digit delivery gains across W18-49 (+111%) and W25-54 (+125%) and double-digit gains across all other key demos, compared to timeslot norms in first quarter '09.
