Late Show Wins Again in Viewers and Adults 25-54
CBS spins the late-night numbers for the week of September 28-October 2.

"LATE SHOW" WINS AGAIN IN VIEWERS AND ADULTS 25-54

"The Late Late Show" Places First in Viewers and Ties" "Late Night" in Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54

Both Programs Lead Time Their Periods Season-to-Date

CBS's LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN topped "The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien" in viewers and adults 25-54 for the second consecutive week and THE LATE LATE SHOW with CRAIG FERGUSON out delivered "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" in viewers while also placing first in adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 (ties), according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Oct. 2.

THE LATE SHOW posted a 3.2/09 in households with an average of 4.43m viewers, up +23% in households (from 2.6/07) and +22% in viewers (from 3.63m) compared to the same week last year. LATE SHOW was even in both adults 25-54 (1.4/06) and adults 18-34 (0.7/03) compared to the same week last year.

LATE SHOW beat "The Tonight Show" in households by +68% (vs. 1.9/05), viewers by +66% (vs. 2.67m) and adults 25-54 by +17% (vs. 1.2/05).

Season-to-date, LATE SHOW is up +18% in households (3.3/09 from 2.8/07), +23% in viewers (4.73m from 3.86m) and even in adults 25-54 (1.5/06), adults 18-49 (1.1/05) and adults 18-34 (0.8/04).

LATE SHOW has improved its competitive position against "The Tonight Show" compared to last year. CBS leads NBC by +83% in households this season (3.3/09 vs. 1.8/05) compared to trailing by -15% last year (2.8/07 vs. 3.3/08). In viewers, LATE SHOW had an +86% advantage (4.73m vs. 2.54m) compared to trailing by -20% last year (3.86m vs. 4.80m). In adults 25-54, LATE SHOW enjoyed a +25% advantage in 2009 (1.5/06 vs. 1.2/05) compared to -6% in 2008 (1.5/06 from 1.6/06). In adults 18-49, LATE SHOW has a 2009 +10% lead (1.1/05 vs. 1.0/04) compared to 2008's -15% finish (1.1/05 vs. 1.3/05).

THE LATE LATE SHOW with CRAIG FERGUSON posted a 1.5/05 in households with 1.94m viewers, up +7% in both households (from 1.4/05) and viewers (from 1.81m) compared to the same week last year. LATE LATE SHOW was even in both adults 18-49 (0.6/04) and adults 18-34 (0.4/03) compared to the same week last year.

THE LATE LATE SHOW beat "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" in households (vs. 1.1/04, +36%), viewers (vs. 1.43m, +36%) and tied in both adults 25-54 and adults 18-49. THE LATE LATE SHOW also topped "Jimmy Kimmel Live" in viewers (1.94m vs. 1.66m, +17%) and adults 18-49 (0.6/04 vs. 0.5/03, +20%).

Season-to-date, LATE LATE SHOW is up +7% in households (1.5/06 from 1.4/05), +10% in viewers (2.02m from 1.84m) and even in both adults 25-54 (0.8/05) and adults 18-49 (0.6/04).

THE LATE LATE SHOW improved its competitive position against "Late Night" compared to last year. CBS leads NBC by +36% in households this season (1.5/06 vs. 1.1/04) compared to being tied last season (1.4/05, each with Conan O'Brien hosting). LATE LATE SHOW has a +43% advantage in viewers (2.02m vs. 1.41m) compared to trailing by -3% last year (1.84m vs. 1.90m). In adults 25-54, LATE LATE SHOW has a +14% advantage in 2009 (0.8/05 vs. 0.7/04) compared to being tied in 2008 (0.8/05, each). In adults 18-49, LATE LATE SHOW and "Late Night" are tied in 2009 (0.6/04, each) compared to trailing in 2008 by -25% (0.6/04 vs. 0.8/04).
