"NIGHTLINE" POSTS FIRST 4th QUARTER TOTAL VIEWER AND DEMO WIN OVER NBC SINCE 4th QUARTER 1993

ABC News' "Nightline" placed second for the just completed fourth quarter, posting 4.00 million Total Viewers, the program's best total viewer delivery for a fourth quarter since 2003, according to Nielsen Media Research. Additionally, "Nightline" outperformed NBC's "The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien" among Total Viewers and Adults 25-54, marking "Nightline's" first total viewer and demo win for a 4th quarter over NBC since 4th quarter 1993. Compared to 4th quarter 2008, "Nightline" grew +1% among Total Viewers while "Tonight" in comparison declined -49%. "The Tonight Show" posted its lowest total viewer and A25-54 deliveries since at least 4th quarter 1991 (which is as far back as Research's records date).

ABC News' "Nightline" is anchored by Cynthia McFadden, Terry Moran and Martin Bashir. John Donvan and Vicki Mabrey are correspondents. James Goldston is the executive producer. The program airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m., ET on the ABC Television Network.
