PBS KIDS WEB SITES BREAK VIDEO VIEW RECORDS

PBS KIDS & PBS KIDS GO! Sites Rack Up More than 87 Million Streams in One Month

Arlington, VA, January 13, 2009 Spurred by the debut of the PBS KIDS video player early in December, children watched more than 87.5 million video streams across the PBS KIDS family of Web sites last month, its highest total ever, putting it on track to be one of the most popular video sites in the world.

"We expected kids would flock to the PBS KIDS video player because it's an educational experience that's also intuitive and fun to use," said Jason Seiken, PBS' SVP, Interactive. "But, frankly, when the team saw the first week's numbers, our jaws dropped.

"Along with the success of the PBS KIDS GO! video player and its industry-first integration of games into video, we see this achievement as further affirmation of the success of the reinvention of PBS."

Seiken added, "By way of comparison, that 87.5 million streams is more than the #1 ranked kids site had in November, according to comScore."
