April 16, 2010 (Burbank, CA) - The CW's freshman hit THE VAMPIRE DIARIES took flight with some of its best ratings in key women demos in over two months, hitting a 2.6/9 among women 18-34 (best since 2/4/10) and a 2.1/6 among women 18-49 (best since 2/11/10), according to national live plus same day Nielsen ratings for Thursday, April 15, 2010.
THE VAMPIRE DIARIES won the 8:00-9:00p.m. hour among females 12-34 (2.5/9) and female teens (2.3/9). VAMPIRE DIARIES beat ABC and NBC in the time period among adults 18-34 (1.8/6), women 18-34 (2.6/9), women 18-49 (2.1/6), persons 12-34 (1.7/6) and females 12-34 (2.5/9). VAMPIRE DIARIES beat an original "FlashForward" on ABC in adults 18-49 (1.6/5).
THE VAMPIRE DIARIES continued to be a powerful force on Thursday, again ranking as the night's #1 show among female teens.
VAMPIRE DIARIES was flat week-to-week among adults 18-34 and adults 18-49, as was SUPERNATURAL, which matched its week ago performance in adults 18-34 (1.2/4) and adults 18-49 (1.2/4).
