"Judge Judy" Kicks Off 15th Season as the #1 Daytime Show in Syndication

(HOLLYWOOD, CA) -The most popular courtroom series in the history of television, JUDGE JUDY, presided over by Judge Judith Sheindlin, began its 15th season last week as the #1 show in daytime.

The last time that any daytime show has beaten "The Oprah Winfrey Show" was in 2000/2001 when JUDGE JUDY was able to accomplish that feat.

During the 2009-10 season, JUDGE JUDY was the highest rated daytime show in syndication with a 4.4 AA (+5% over last season's 4.2) and a 6.9 GAA household rating (+6% over last season's 6.5). Additionally, JUDGE JUDY rules as television's #1 Daytime and Early Fringe syndicated strip among homes, total viewers, women 18-49 and women 25-54. (GAA%).

In viewers 2 plus, JUDGE JUDY has averaged 6.3 million viewers against "Oprah's" 5.7 million for the 2009/10 season. JUDY is up 6%, while "Oprah" is down 7% over the 2008/09 season.

JUDY delivers 9.6 million average daily viewers (GAA), which is up 7% over the 2008-09 season.*

Among court shows, JUDGE JUDY was #1 among homes, key women and key adults, a position that it has held every sweep since its premiere-55 consecutive sweeps. Also, JUDGE JUDY ranks as the #1 half hour court show for 730 consecutive weeks among homes, every week since its premiere (AA/GAA). *

In New York, at 4:30 p.m. on WCBS-TV, JUDGE JUDY was the #1 show in the time period among homes and was WCBS' #1 syndicated strip among homes, adults 18-49 and 25-54. In Los Angeles, at 3:30 p.m. on KCBS-TV, JUDGE JUDY was KCBS' #1 syndicated strip among key adults. In Chicago at 4:30 p.m. on WBBM, JUDGE JUDY was WBBM's #1 syndicated strip among homes and women and adults 18-49. In Philadelphia at 4:30 p.m. on WTXF, JUDGE JUDY is WTXF's #1 syndicated strip among homes and key demos. In Dallas, on KDFW-TV at 4:30 p.m., JUDGE JUDY was the #1 syndicated strip on KDFW among homes. In Washington DC on WTTG at 4:30 p.m., JUDGE JUDY grew by 50% among homes over May 2009. **
