"America's Funniest Home Videos" (7:00-8:00 p.m.)

At 7:00 p.m., ABC's "America's Funniest Home Videos" improved on its week-ago performance by 1.7 million viewers (7.6 million vs. 5.9 million) and by 14% in Adults 18-49 (1.6/4 vs. 1.4/4), drawing the show's largest audience in over 8 months - since 2/28/10.

"Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" (8:00-9:00 p.m.)

"Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" also marked season-highs in Adults 25-54 and Women 18-49.

"Desperate Housewives" (9:00-10:00 p.m.)

ABC's "Desperate Housewives" stood as Sunday's No. 1 entertainment TV show in both viewers (12.6 million) and young adults (4.0/9) for the 4th consecutive week, turning in its strongest Adults 18-49 number in 5 weeks (since 10/3/10). In addition, "Brothers & Sisters" beat its CBS competition, "Undercover Boss"/"CSI: Miami," in Adults 18-34 (2.0/6 vs. 1.9/5) and across each of the key Women demographics: Women 18-34 (2.9/8 vs. 1.8/5), Women 18-49 (3.7/10 vs. 2.8/8) and Women 25-54 (4.6/12 vs. 3.6/9).

A note about increasing DVR penetration and year-to-year rating comparisons: Year-to-year rating comparisons based on the Live + Same Day data stream are distorted by the level of DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample, which has jumped up to 38% currently, from 33% at the same point in 2009. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the overnight next day numbers. The only truly valid year-to-year comparison would be one based on the Live + 7 Day metric, once those stats are released by Nielsen.
