Friday's Broadcast Ratings: CBS Slips Past ABC in Adults 18-49

Here are the highlights of the 12 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night:

CBS (9.14 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.6, #1) maintained top honors on Friday thanks to new episodes of "Medium" (6.92 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T5), "CSI: NY" (9.97 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.7, #2) and "Blue Bloods" (10.52 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T3).

ABC (5.63 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.5, #2) was a close second with its mix of "Supernanny" (5.18 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.2, #8), "Primetime: What Would You Do?" (6.29 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.9, #1) and "20/20" (5.42 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T3).

Next up was NBC (4.70 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.2, #3) with a new "School Pride" (2.40 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.6, #12) and another two-hour "Dateline NBC" (5.85 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T5).

Meanwhile, The CW (2.48 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.1, #4) offered up new episodes of "Smallville" (2.89 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.3, #7) and "Supernatural" (2.08 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.9, #10).

And finally, a repeat of "House" (3.30 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.0, #9) led into a new "The Good Guys" (2.39 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.7, #11) on FOX (2.84 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.9, #5).

Week-to-week changes (adults 18-49): Smallville (18.20%), Primetime: What Would You Do? (11.80%), Dateline NBC (7.70%), School Pride (0.00%), Supernanny (0.00%), 20/20 (0.00%), Blue Bloods (-5.90%), Medium (-6.70%), The Good Guys (-12.50%), CSI: NY (-15.00%), Supernatural (-18.20%).

In late-night metered market ratings, CBS's "Letterman" (3.0/7) took top honors over ABC's "Nightline" (2.8/7) and NBC's "Leno" (2.9/7). Rounding out the night then were "Kimmel" (1.5/4) on ABC "Ferguson" (1.4/5) on CBS and "Fallon" (1.5/5) and "Daly" (0.9/4) on NBC.


Here are the highlights of the 13 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (11/13/09):

CBS (8.11 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.9, #1) once again took home top honors on Friday thanks to new episodes of "Ghost Whisperer" (8.01 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.0, #1), "Medium" (8.16 million viewers, #T1; adults 18-49: 1.9, #T2) and "NUMB3RS" (8.16 million viewers, #T1; adults 18-49: 1.8, #4).

NBC (6.51 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T2) then claimed the silver with new episodes of "Law & Order" (7.50 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.7, #T5), "Dateline NBC" (7.32 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.7, #T5) and "The Jay Leno Show" (4.69 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T9).

Sharing second place was ABC (5.41 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T2) with fresh installments of "Supernanny" (5.03 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.4, #7), "Ugly Betty" (4.45 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.3, #8) and "20/20" (6.75 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.9, #T2).

Meanwhile, FOX (3.75 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.1, #4) offered up repeats of "House" (3.50 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.1, #12) and "Bones" (4.00 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T9).

And finally, a new "Smallville" (2.70 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T9) lead into a repeat of "America's Next Top Model" (1.35 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.6, #13) on The CW (2.02 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.9, #5).
